You captured a great moment! The child is well placed. I would have darkened the burned out the bright background somehow. The dark side of the child's face needs to be brighter. (Select the face and create a new layer and brighten the dark parts in curves. Or do it in Lightroom or ACR.)
I would also either include the top of the head or crop more into it. |

I like the sepia. I think it is too bright (faded}. I would have cropped from the right. That would eliminate the car in the background and give the horse more room to move. |

Very inviting! I love the colors. I have a rough time deciding if the flowers on the upper right should be cropped out. The chairs need their feet if they are that close to being included. It also seems a bit too dark on my monitor. |

Black and white works well. I agree the earring is fantastic but it is too central. The man's dark eyes and expression looked frightening to me before I read your description. I would therefore crop from the right to make the earring be in a more powerful position. |

That is closer than I would like to be! Your composition and making the best of a strongly back-lit subject are commendable. But the bright parts are not the important parts. You might try highlight shadow in photoshop or bring up the shadows in lightroom or Adobe Camera Raw. |
