I did look back at the original image, and there is no more room around this image. I do have some others back further, but they are at a different angle that I did not like as well. |

Too bad that there were no storms that day. However you did capture a nice pictorial scene. The blur of the windmill blades adds some movement to the image. Since I had lived in Oklahoma most of my life, windmills like this are a common sight, but usually not in such a photogenic location. I have added a wooden windmill, which were made before the metal ones became popular. This was taken in Utah, and also shows a very different set of blades. |

You have a nice peaceful scene with the calm water and a large branch in the foreground for depth of field. The area in front of the branch is too cluttered and is a distraction. I really like what Butch did to improve the image. |

What a great photographic eye to see this image. You did an excellent job of exposing, as the girl's face is well lighted and the candles are not blown out. The story of this image is the girl's face and expression. I agree with Butch that you do not need all of the tree, but think that he went too far. I cropped off most of the tree away from the girl and reversed the image. This image should do very well in human interest in PJ. |

I would say that you accomplished what you wanted to. A nice image of the pelican that is also very pictorial because of the water color. The wake of the pelican shows movement and the blue of it contrasts nicely with the gold water. Butch's crop does bring more emphasis to the pelican but I would not flip the image as now the pelican is swimming out of the image. |

While I had been living in Oklahoma City I had taken many trips to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge in SW Oklahoma. So, I know that getting an image like this with the bison looking back at you is not easy. It seems like they always have their head down eating and not looking at you. The image is sharp, and well exposed to show the dark face well. The greens and browns work well with the bison. I like the tall grass in front of the bison, and do not think that you need to remove any of it as Butch has done. I agree with Butch and Gaetan that the yellow in the upper right is a distraction. Overall, I like the improvements that Butch has made. |

Thanks, it was shot on September 20th. As I remember, the house is on the road coming into town.
There must be a lot of detail in the image, and to get it below 1 meg for the website I had to save it as a file for the internet. I think that removed most or all of the metadata.
That is something about using "Export for Internet", it removes the metadata if you don't want someone to see it. |

The border does not bother me. But it is a bit too wide, when it is easy to make the border smaller in Silver efex. You do make a good comment about an antique look on an image that could not be historical. |

The 2 images were taken at a slightly different location. I included the color image to show basically what the IR image would have looked like in color. A camera converted to IR can not take a color image. |

This is an interesting old building, and you did a good job of photographing it. It must have been very interesting photographing Alcatraz. I do prefer the mono over the color. I tried a different approach and first removed the buildings in the upper right, as they draw my eye from the subject. Then I used NIK Silver efex with the the High Structure Harsh preset but added more blue to darken the sky.

Interesting question. To me the color has too many distracting colors. The monochrome with wetrocks brings out the textures of the seed pods. I think that you used the wrong bowl, as the patterns on the right interior of the bowl distracts from the seed pods. |

That is the IR effect, dark skies and white leaves. I like the contrast between the leaves and the sky. |

I like the composition. The angle of the arms is very dramatic. The soft light is good, as there are no harsh shadows. |

That is a very impressive tree group. I like that the tree branches are dark and the contrast with the white sky. From your description, I am not sure what you were trying to do, but like the final effect. |

Thanks for the story and a nice image. I am glad to see that the military has units like this showing the history. Fort Sill has a unit that depicts a WWI mounted artillery unit. The color image seems a bit soft, but your conversion to mono seems sharper. |

A very dramatic image. I like the tighter crop. The dust from the one on the right is really good and adds movement to the image. The ears back and lowered head on that one, to me shows that they are being aggressive. Conversion to mono was a good choice and was well done. I have no suggestions for improvement. |

Thank you. F16 a light wind and being on a tripod really help with the depth of field. |

You captured a very good image of the icicles that are growing on the what looks like pine needles. The image is sharp, with good lighting and has good composition. The background is perfect with the blue and out of focus dark areas, making it look very natural. |

You have created a very creative and interesting image. The nutcracker is super sharp and the light painting adds a lot to the image. This is a great use of Live composting mode. What light did you use for the line of red and green? |

What a nice image with all of the texture in the leaves with the red flower stem for a point of interest. I have always thought that canna plants and flowers were interesting but never able to think of a good way to photograph them. You accomplished that. |

I agree with Cindy that you have a nice pattern shot. I really like that Cindy turned it into mono as that helps bring out the pattern effect. |
