Thanks for the comments. I am 79, so not much younger than you. |

A very sharp image with great depth of field. You captured the bird coming straight toward you with the wings in good positions, and it fills the frame perfectly. The rainbow is also in the perfect place. The bird seems a bit dark, but it was a rainy sky, and the brightest point of the image is the birds face. The eye goes straight to the face. I would not change a thing. |

You located a very interesting boat and did a good job of photographing it. I hope that you spent some more time taking images because it looks like there are some interesting closeups to photograph. I don't agree with Hoshedar to go lower, because then the green growth in the boat would not be so noticeable. I did reverse the image so that the concrete blocks would not lead the eye out of the image. I did have to remove the lettering. |

You have a great nature image, and thank you for the story. I do not think of a lioness going into water to capture its prey. I am glad that you were able to capture the lioness looking toward you, and you have a really good background. The image is a little tight behind her, but you have plenty of room in front of her which is more important. |

Hoshedar, thanks, that is what I was wanting for the image. Butch has a differing idea, but maybe that is why photography is considered an art with viewers seeing an image differently. |

A nice sharp image with good depth of field. Yes, the colors are very nice and the background behind the chaser is very blurred. I will take the middle ground between Butch and Gaetan, and suggest that you crop off most of the left 2 green stems, leaving the third from the left stem. That will also get rid of some of the bright yellow area in the lower left corner. |

What a beautiful building. I like the sidewalk leading into the building, and the contrast with the brick building in front of the Tower Building. What is the web looking structure at the top of the building? The 20mm lens has given you some distortion, and I straightened the near light pole, which mostly made the tower also straight. The fountain is not level, but to me that is less distracting. I like the extra contrast that Butch added to the clouds. |

It may be the headstone on the far left, since it has so much visual detail. Removing that head stone, or blurring the detail may help the image -- what do you think? |

The original shown on the webpage looks monochrome. That is what I was discussing, not a color image. |

Congratulations on your image being used. I like the composition and the mixture of complete acorns and the addition of only an acorn top. The tree stem and its angle adds to the image. I think that the image has too much grain. I like the color better than the mono. |

Thank you for the interesting historical image and the story about the location. The pyramid must have been really well constructed to be in such good shape today. You did a good job of scanning the old slide and your conversion to mono looks much better than the color. You could expand the canvas and use the clone tool to add more space at the top. |

Another good image of Yosemite. I think that the wind helps the image. The trees around the falls really show the size of the falls. You did exactly what you should have done with a boring sky, not show much of it. I think that you have too much contrast in the area around the falls, as the falls appear too light with the shadow behind the falls too dark. |

Welcome to the group, and your use of low key will be an interesting addition to the group. At first glance I did not see that it was a nude image. The addition of the necklace and the texture of the skin really helps the image. I actually like the original image better, because it is showing more curves. Since you have a black background, it would be easy to make the white area black.
I have found your comments very good, and helpful. |

You have a very interesting image, which is very sharp with great depth of field. Well done at 0.8 seconds and f11. I would not change the angle, you have so many angles that the only thing that you made straight are some of the stairs. You have more interest in leaving nothing straight. You also have lost some of the effect of the leading lines coming into the image. I would not tone down the banisters or the strip lights as leaving them gives them more separation. The floor has given you a great center of interest. I would say that you made the most of a rainy day. |

Thanks, I think that the best reason to use IR is to have a black sky and white clouds. |

Welcome to the group. Thanks for the suggestions. I did go back to the church on a day with a better sky, and added it above. It still has some distortion from a wide angle lens. |

I had a camera converted to IR for a new "toy" to play with, and maybe get me out more taking photos. You are correct, one of the best things about IR is having really dark skies. The sky that day did not have really blue skies, so not dark skies even with IR. I will have to go back to that church when the skies are better. |

Really great crop and composition with the lone branch coming in from the lower left and being angled. The black background against the bright green makes for good contrast. Thanks for telling us how you got the black background. Like mentioned above, the fading tip is good. I would not change a thing. |

Excellent job of taking the photograph of black stones. The highlights on the stones really help the image. It was a good idea to add some other color to the image, but I think that you have too much. The grey and the brightly colored stone are too far apart. You should crop off the grey stone. If you try this again, leave out the grey stone and move the colored stone over about one stones width. |

You captured these two interesting birds with good interaction. It looks like you had nice soft lighting. You have good detail in most of the white feathers. It does look like there is a hot spot on one of the bird's back. I would not crop in. Well seen and captured. |

Great sharpness and depth of field. The colors really draw your attention. I like the crop and the composition with the loop being well placed and the black area also well placed. Pano was a great choice as the area at the top is out of focus and not interesting. You captured the neon tubs in an unusual and interesting way. The smudges don't bother me, and maybe gives it some character. |

Well seen and captured. The colors and textures are great. The square created by the pipes is an interesting composition. I would crop some off the bottom, up to the top of the pipe shadow. I think that the top valve is too far from the bottom, and my eye wants to bounce between the bottom valves and top valve. |

This is an interesting mushroom. The contrast between the mushroom and the tree is a good idea. The junk below the mushroom to me is distracting. Like some of the suggestions above, you should crop in more. |
