Interesting old cemetery and the snow adds interest. I like your crop to show only the headstones. The blue snow is a distraction to me. I know that the camera captures the snow as blue when there is a blue sky, but the eye converts it to white. I used Hue and Saturation, selected the blue and took the saturation to zero. The monochrome image from Beverly Caine did about the same. |

I like the C-1 image color the best, that is shown as the main image. This is an interesting image, but seems busy. Would you tell us how you created it? |

I have been to Brice Canyon and agree that it is a great place to view and photograph. I did not have the great clouds that you had. Your HDR did a good job of making the image look natural. Using an ISO of 200 helped with getting rid of the grit I am sure. The 2 people do show the huge size of the hoodoos. If you have more image to the left, moving the people more into the image would help. |

What a super job of cleaning up the background to show only this beautiful young woman. I like the high key effect that you used. You had an excellent exposure to have so much detail in her white dress. The only thing that I would suggest, is that I don't think that she should be looking down so much. I straighten her some. |

I agree with you about the lower right corner. It is sharp, and looks really good if I sit back from the computer screen a bit. Cell phone images are really good and it is the camera that we have with us all the time. |

I do see the face, looking to the right. For me, the shutter speed was too fast -- I prefer the water to have a smoother look. |

Don't worry about dimensions of an image, especially for digital. Crop to make the best image. Even a print can be trimmed to show the best image. Leaving unneeded and especially distracting elements in an image is a distraction. As an exhibition judge I know that if a judge sees that an image can be improved by cropping it can well be the difference between acceptance and rejection. |

Welcome to the group. You have really good lighting on the sculpture. It separates the sculpture from the trees. It is a good subject for monochrome as it does away with the colors on the arches. One suggestion would be to crop off the line area at the bottom. It does not add to the image and is a distraction as the contrast draws the eye, and an area like that can act as a block to keep you out of the image. |

The image seems a bit dark to me. I like what Diana did with it. I have found that if you make adjustments to the color image before you convert to monochrome that you can get better results. I used hue and saturation on the color image to select the blues in the sky and saturate and darken them more. Then when I converted to monochrome in PS I used the red filter option and adjusted the yellow slider to make the building lighter. |

Good capture of the interesting arch. I like the 2 boats in the opening of the arch. The structure to the right of the arch is a distraction to me. My eye wants to follow it which takes me away from the arch. I would crop off the right side to get rid of it. I always shoot in RAW now. You can do so much to bring out detail that is lost when the camera converts to JPEG. |

I like the framing of the trees on the sides. The stonework is very interesting and you presented it well. I like the crop. The image is very centered, but works well. |

The feathers only look bad after you told me to look at them. My eye goes to the egret's eye when I first viewed it. You do have good separation of the bird from the background. I really have not converted many images to high key, so I am not any help in doing them. I do like Diana's snow image. |

You did an excellent job of capturing the model. Getting her eyes through the glasses is hard to do, and you did it. It is an excellent subject for monochrome and I like the yellowed look to make it look like it is an old time photo. It sounds like you had fun and got some great images. |
