I curate a number of exhibitions of art in several venues and I am always of mixed emotions as to whether nudity is proper. I tend to be a little more picky about what is allowed in venues where I know young children are frequently present.
As to photographing statues or other works of art and reproducing them for competitions or public display, I personally avoid it unless I substantially change the work to show it in a different light.
Upon further reflection, I'm not sure what the difference is whether it is a statue, a building, or other commercial work of art like the "bean" in Chicago's Millennium Park, which I have not only successfully reproduced for competition, but have also sold my images of these things. |

Great capture Subhash. Great color, texture and detail. The subject matter certainly makes you stop and think. The foreground is well in focus and the background is pleasingly out of focus which helps establish good depth of field feeling. |
