Great timing to achieve this wonderful action image. Good sharpness and detail. If you vignette the edges just a bit, it will help to keep the eye focused on what's important (since you cannot enter into a nature competiton. |

Good pattern and texture Gunter. You managed to keep the snow white, which is often a challenge as the camera seems to want to set it to middle gray. The animal tracks in the snow give this image additional interest. |

I did not use any artificial light. We were in an area where the background was over 20 feet away so using F16 to make sure that everything was in focus not difficult. The subject was high enough that no other plants were in the way. This was taken in early morning in August, so the light was good. I always manual focus for macro, using the live view zoomed in to make sure the focus is as sharp as I can get it. |
