17 Sep 20 Comment Glad to have you. This is a scene image that required some thought before responding. First was that this had to be pre-COVID-19, hopefully. Reminds of a marketplace image from Wuhan that appeared early on. It has a lot to like, but for me I think I would have appreciated greater depth, if achievable by faster ISO and tighter f-stop, but you did well with what you had. One can cavil about crop and inclusions, but since art is to provoke emotion, I think it works. Imagine all the releases one would have to get to publish it! Sep 11th
17 Sep 20 Comment It's lovely and the detail is admirable. The centering is a bit of a compositional concern, and the intrusiveness. I would clone out the upturned spear on the left and give the bird a way out without intrusion. And it would have been so nice if the tailfeathers hung down in the body line of the owner, but one does what one can with what one is given. And the bird is superb and nice handling of the background. Sep 8th
17 Sep 20 Comment This is quite a saturation raid on the senses. One can indeed take Joe's approach to simplify, but somehow, as overwhelming as it is, I can imagine just pouring a drink, putting feet up, and letting it all tell all of its stories. I do get the urge to step back to safety and take better control of the impact and agenda. Sep 8th
17 Sep 20 Comment It is a fun scene with lots of avenues for story-telling. Much enjoyed. Thank you. Sep 8th
17 Sep 20 Comment I think you did a great thing to help an iPhone do a real marvelous job on a lovely warm scene. As Joe picked up on my image, post-processing software can endow the sky with graininess and the treetops with odd artefacts. But what the scene says is beautiful and probably all that matters. Pales my image next door. Sep 8th
17 Sep 20 Comment Enjoy the view and the mood of the train. I see in England the locomotives use the left-side also. No real surprise, I guess. I personally would have enjoyed more of the cab interior and provisioning. but thanks. Sep 8th
17 Sep 20 Reply Somewhat, thanks. But I was referring earlier to your clouds -- a bit grainy, but that is common with post-processing, I think. Sep 8th
17 Sep 20 Reply Joe: I don't recall about the trees. It is an older image. I like yours better anyway, though the sky remains a challenge to post-processing. Sep 8th
