I think Sheldons analysis is the same as I am thinking. Your ammended image looks to me to have dealt with things. I like the glow of the lighting, it gives an ethereal look which is just right. |

The composition is a little brave with this subject and your cropped version for me works better. As does the vignette and sharpening you added. |

First thing I must say is that the sepia effect is very subtle and I like that, too many sepia conversions are too red for my taste. There is a lot for the eye to take in the room is full of detail. The widow area is a little bright. But I like it. |

Whatever the technical details of taking the picture you chose the moment to hit the button. I do not think it is any different to taking natural history of a set up scene.
Any way I think is a fun picture and worth the effort. I kind of agree with Joe's alternative title. |

I first found the technique when looking at other photos in other groups, it appears quite regularly. You choose polar co-ordinates in Photoshop distort filters, select 'polar to rectangle'. Then take the result and turn it through 180 degrees. You then go back to polar co-ordinates select the 'rectangular to polar' and the jobs a good un. You can increase the canvas size and use a fill colour if you so desire. |

I like the colours and the idea of the trees in silhouette. As Stan says the base helps make the picture. I like the tree trunks and there position in the frame. Personally I think we have a few too many branches criss crossing the picture. |

I like this. The moment has been well caught, the bird fills the frame with its spread wings. It is a touch soft and maybe a little fussy in the background, but I still like it. |

The way the bird first appears as you look at this picture makes you want to study it closer and know the story.I like the composition and the background colour suits the bird. This is a case of you being the one in the cage being looked at. |

Well done. Your time was certainly not wasted in setting this up and taking the pictures. Choosing mono was a good move with this subject. The thing that I like is that you would not see the monster until you reviewed your images, yet you have caught it so well. |

A fabulous location with spectacular scenery. I like the way you have the foreground with a bit of vegetation and then the plantless background. the two figures give scale to the scene while not being a distraction. |

A well taken portrait of this handsome bird. The detail in the plumage and the vibrant colours add to the interest in the picture. I wonder if he is looking out of the window and wondering whether or not to venture out in to the wind. |

When did those trees appear, I had not noticed them until I read your comment. |
