A well taken portrait of an interesting looking bird. All the detail is well rendered and I think the square crop suits it. |

Excellent timing with pressing the shutter. You had a good image already with the man and the building, then in wanders the cockrell, not only is the timing good but the colours of the bird match the scene. |

A very well taken portrait of the Mandrill. For me the important bit to be sharp in this type of image is the eyes, and they are. I agree with Peter with regard to the sharpness or softness of fur, yours is as it should be. |

I hope Dick is wrong with his idea for the tents purpose. It does not look to private. A great character that wants to be photographed and you have made a good picture with your composition. |

Great colour combination and its all natural. Very dramatic landscape and those bushes make a great foreground.Your chance clouds help to make this image that bit better. |

I have to agree about your HDR technique, I am often put off by the exaggerated effect of many HDR images but this is subtle and I like it. I like the sky and would keep all of it.In a way it seems like a continuation of your industrial themes, but on a grander scale. |

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions. I think the suggested crop is a good idea. With regard to the detail in the sky, I converted the image to mono as the sky was very grey and bland with no detail to really show. |

I like the composition, the eye is drawn along the river into the distance. The lighting conditions are difficult to control in these situations. Stans suggestion re the ISO allowing a smaller aperture would help with the depth of field as also Norms suggestion about the point of focus. |

What a great little story this portrays.I like it. Okay the figures in the background are a bit of a distraction, but it is the story of the man and his likeness that the picture is about. I like it. |

You certainly captured a feeling of solitude. It has a feel of menace to me, as if it is a place of interrogation, not at all inviting. The chair seems to be positioned looking away from the view outside as if the potential occupant is being denied a glimpse. |

Ah aplace on your side of the Atlantic that I have visited. We managed to arrive before the coaches and had the place pretty much to ourselves for a while. I like the use of the colours in the boat and building.Well seen and taken. |

The comments of the others pretty well cover what I would say. It is a very nice portrait of Francesca and mono seems to suit it. You composition and cropping concentrate the eye on the dog. The eyes are the important part of any portrait be it animal or human,it can be a bit difficult with such a nice long nose. |

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I understand the suggestions for cropping, I had already cropped it a bit and my idea was to include the environment as much as possible. The window and the light are a bit of a distraction and my skills in PS do not give a very good result when toning them down. |
