Vella, don't be confused by the nose-down look. The locomotive is built with the nose-down angle on the boiler etc so that when it is climbing the mountain the boiler becomes level because the track slopes upwards. |

This is right up my street, Bill. I enjoy finding details like this and giving them some extra punch. Brightening up the helmet and darkening the background has really brought the helmet to life and made it the focal point of the composition. |

Ian, you have moved into a very attractive location. Not all English villages are as nice as this! Good depth of field from front to back. I am a bit distracted by the next door house on the right. I cropped this out and cloned out a small bit of overhanging roof, and then cropped some off the top to re-balance the composition. |

A bit of a puzzle at first until I read your description, Erik. It is quite amusing to see wild animals simply taking time out for relaxation. Sharp and well captured. Yes, it can be difficult if your lens is too long. It happened to me once with a bison in Yellowstone! |

Nice shot Vella. This animal is clearly keeping an eye on you, but whether it considers you a threat or as food is not clear. However, judging by your original No 1, you were far enough away to make a quick escape if it decided to attack. Good sharp image and good eye contact. |

This is a fun image and I have seen something similar in the past. I presume the person doing the spinning moved around because I can see no shadow of him/her in the image? |

Nice piece of work, Gary. This is a good architectural record of this splendid church. Sharp and good verticals. The stained glass is well recorded - this can be quite difficult as I have found out in our own church. The two stained glass windows at each end do look a little too bright at their tops. Could you have toned them down to match the rest? |
