Ian, it was certainly very noisy! Also, there were Arctic Terns there and they would nest on the grass near the path. If you got too close to them, they would attack by pecking at your head. I used a walking pole stuck into my camera bag to stick up above my head so they could not fly over me. They would retaliate by aiming their droppings at you, so I wore a very old waterproof jacket as protection. It was fun keeping the camera protected! Here is a photo of Paula being attacked on Inner Farne, one of the adjacent islands. |

Gary, the best I can get is the European Herring Gull, but that is supposed to have pink legs. Very similar is the Yellow Legged Gull, but that (as you might guess) has yellow legs. This one seems to have black legs. I am not a bird expert but have Googled Herring Gull and that seems to be the nearest. It could be an American Herring Gull that has got lost. I believe they are very similar. I do have some other shots of Yellow Legged Gulls. Maybe I'll post one next month. And no, I wasn't quick enough to catch a shot of a sand eel being stolen. |

Nice bit of cleaning Bill. You did quite a lot of work to produce a good sharp image of a well preserved vintage vehicle, with no distractions. |

Nice Gary, but I prefer Vella's version. |

Ian, you do seem to find yourself in situations where it is difficult to get a good shot, and yet you manage to overcome the problems every time. My only comment is that the highlight on her shoulder draws my attention so I wonder if you could lighten the head a little in PP to balance that. |

You are quite right, Isaac. The original was very much a grab shot as you may imagine, and there was no time to re-frame or take a second shot. I should have thought about adding some space in front of it in PP. Thanks for the suggestion. That's what this group is all about. |

Nice family scene, Erik. I like the grouping with the close contact of these deer. The one at the back (probably the male) has spotted you and is ready to warn the others if you should become a threat. Good record of their social and protective behaviour. It is a little unfortunate that the nearer adult is in shadow, but you can't choose your lighting with wildlife. |

Nice bit of seeing and an excellent job in correcting the perspective. The colours go well together and I do like the fact that the window top left is not boarded up. Also, the wider archway second right at the bottom, together with the small window bottom right nicely break up the pattern. |

This is very impressive symmetry. My first impression was that this was a Photoshop kaleidoscope type of image until I noticed that the lighting is different on all the buildings. What a super blue sky. Any clouds would have spoiled the symmetry. I'm pleased it was not a busy traffic intersection! |

I like this a lot, Gary. The red tail lights and the street lighting take you nicely into the image, but that would be incomplete without the yellow road markings that beautifully fill in the base and the right corner. There is just one thing that spoils my enjoyment and that is the light streaks in the palm fronds at the extreme left. |
