Hi Gary
My computer has just died so I will not be able to join in the group until I get it back from the repair shop.

I agree about Gary's crop, Isaac. I guess I got too excited by the heavy clouds! |

Hi Ian. Congratulations on being invited to join Luma Creations as their photographer. This image is another example of the high quality of your work and also of your ability to capture the right moment to get the perfect shot. The framing, the smile and the swirl of the dress all show you have hit it just right.
I think if you had included the full reflection it would have unbalanced the composition by giving us two subjects to look at - the girl and the reflection. |

Super shot, Bill. You got your camera settings just right and even got a catch light in the eye. In the days of slide film with ISO's of 50 - 400 it was said that it was almost impossible to freeze the wings of a humming bird. It would be interesting to know what your camera & lens settings were for this shot. |

I like your crop, Gary. Thanks for the suggestion. I guess I was carried away by the look of the clouds.
Thanks for the confirmation of the translation. |

Erik, I started by being a little confused when you mentioned sunset and showed a glowing white ball in the sky and a title of, "Moon Rays." My very slow brain finally worked out that the setting sun was behind you (it has to be with a full moon), illuminating the landscape and that the 5 second exposure at f/22 had made the moon into a glowing white ball with moon rays. Nice shot and very different from most moon shots. That's what I like about this group - we all seem to see things in interesting ways. Incidentally, the giveaway for the 5 second exposure is the star trail in the upper right. |

Good sharp picture of these little animals. The light is warm and low and suits the colour of the animals. I didn't think about leaving some of the distant shore in, but I agree with Gary that it would be better. |

What a beautiful setting and what a lot of stones (ie sins)!
Some people would want to leave out the legs in the bottom left and let the attention go to the altar at the back, but I like what you have done here, because it is something different and it is part of the scene. The blue jeans catch the eye and lead you into the picture. They also tell a story of someone avoiding personal intrusion. |

Nice one Gary. You would have to be a long way from the cacti to get the relative sizes of the moon and cacti as you wanted, never mind thinking about getting both sharp and properly exposed to get them on a single shot. You did the right thing and got everything right, including the use of Screen Blend Mode for the moon. |
