I've got another up my sleeve, but I still need to work on it. Just been away for two weeks and still trying to catch up with the emails, 99% of which are junk or spam. The system sorts most of them correctly but you still have to check. |

Ian, I would have been standing beside you to get this shot if I had been there! I love these old and decrepit windows and doorways. There is so much detail in the image that there are several more images in there too. Take the abstract detail in those wood panels for example, or the crumbling wall below the window... |

A great combination of luck and skill. The luck was that you happened along just at the right time to see these birds in their pre-mating ritual, and the skill was in recognising this and then being able to get the shot with the right settings and to do so without disturbing the birds. Focus on the birds is perfect and the background is thrown nicely out of focus by the long lens. |

Vella, your treatment has made this rose look like a very delicate piece of fine china. The gentle texture in the petals just lifts them out of being plain white. Just how much texture to retain is a matter of personal preference, and for me, a slight move towards Gary's version would work well. |

Bill, a really nice high contrast IR image with bold, striking shadows. The powerful lead-in from bottom left is a strong compositional element. One small crit - I would like to have seen the top of the tree at top centre. |

Great bit of journalism, Isaac I'm glad you got out before the man on the left raised his BIG knife! The clarity is great when you consider the ISO of 10,000. It must have been dark to need that ISO with a fairly normal exposure of 1/160 at f/8. |

Nice combination of exposures, Gary. The building has an almost ethereal glow against the lovely sunset sky. It works very nively for me. |

Hi Vella, I tried a mono with this image and made the clouds quite dramatic but I didn't like the effect. It split the image into two subjects - the houses at bottom left and dramatic sky top right. There were two focal points to grab your attention and it just did not work. I did a mono of a different shot without the sky and that worked fine. |
