Bill, you spotted a good opportunity on your walk. I like the composition with the eye being taken directly through to the beach and that fabulous sky. This is an example of where a central starting point in the composition really works well. Your PP work has enhanced the picture and I think the conversion to mono really enhances the mood. |

Isaac, I don't think it is the same image. This image is looking north along the coast. The image in Group 31 is looking south - you can relax, Dr Flip is not being challenged! |

There is nothing like the North Sea coast for a good windy blow of fresh air! I like the long shutter speed effect on the sea. Everything else is sharp so you clearly pegged the tripod down well enough! It was good to see you again. |

That seems to have been a very enjoyable day out. I am not familiar with these beautiful birds, but I am envious of your ability to hold such a long lens steady enough to get a shot. To me the birds seem to be soft, but I can understand the reason in the circumstances. Great colour contrast and certainly an occasion to remember. |

Vella, I like your bold framing with almost a third of the image area given over to the overhanging rock in the top left. It creates a feeling of emerging from a deep, dark cave into the the light and beauty of Zion. I like the way the overhang mirrors the slope of the mountain. Exposure is good with the whole tonal range captured and it is sharp throughout. |

Isaac, you have captured the colours and the wide tonal range very nicely. There is detail in the snow and the whole scene has been perfectly rendered. The flowing water has lovely detail. I think the composition might have been more dynamic by shooting from one side of the bridge or the other to have the river on the diagonal (or nearly so). Well done for being there in January. I guess it was very cold! |

What a wonderful place to make architectural pictures! I think I could spend a very happy and fruitful day at this location. When I first looked at this iamge, I thoght that there was something I was not happy about but I could not decide what it was. It was not until I read Isaac's suggestion to crop the base that I realised that was it. Cropping the base to put that strong diagonal starting at the bottom left creates a powerful lead-in to the image and really makes the composition. Coverting to b/w allows you to boost the contrast to make a superb image. |
