Vella, just for fun I took your image into ON1RAW 2024 and hit the new "Brilliance AI" button. I was amazed aat how much detail it brought out. |

Ian, that was Bill you were replying to, not me! I like your original crop but there is a tiny white mark at the LH edge low down which I would take out either by cropping or by use of Healing Brush. |

Ian, I admire your control of lighting, using just the right amount of fill flash to eliminate harsh shadows while maintaining good modelling. I don't have a problem with the lines of bricks. |

Bill, this is a good historical record of the construction of this bridge, and quite a challenge photographing against the sun. I wonder how it would look in b/w. |

I like that too! Feel free to play. That's how we learn. I am fascinated by how many interpretations there are of this scene. |

Well whatever the cause of the unusual colour, it is an interesing shot. There does appear to be a slight lack of detail in the plumage of the blue egret and the grasses suggest that the plane of fous is slightly behind it. I tried it in Topaz Sharpen AI and it brought out some texture in the plumage. |

What an amazing shot to see the bird tackling a fish that size. It's a bit like a human trying to swallow a whole sheep in one go! I agree with the comments so far that it would be nice to have more light in the background. Good sharpness considering it was taken from a boat. |

Would it be better if it were cropped on the RHS? |

Isaac, I like this image very much. I am happy with the silhouettes of the rocks and the background tree-line. I don't want any distracting detail - I like the graphic nature of the image and the beautiful sunrise colours. |

Gary, I may have overdone the darkening of the sand in this - done in too much of a hurry. This one is more like I was thinking.
Your second image is just right. |

I can imagine that this sort of thing is great fun. I have never been to anything like this, but I do know that photographing unpredictable action like this is very exciting and really gets the adrenaline going. You get a lot of misses but you also get some good ones. You caught the action here and I find it amusing that the bystanders are all using their mobile phones to capture the action. You have done a nice job cropping and cloning out distractions. My only offering is to darken the sand at the base because it draws the eye. |
