4 Jan 24 Reply Hi Ian. Thanks for your comments. It would be great to meet up with you when you come over to North Yorkshire. More about the church from Google:
St Thomas Becket is the most iconic of all the churches on Romney Marsh. The tiny building that dates back to the late 12th century sits isolated in a field cut through with dykes and grazed by sheep; the houses of the original medieval inhabitants of Fairfield have long since disappeared. Constructed with a wooden frame and walls of wattle and daub, the church was restored in the 18th century when the walls were replaced with bricks.

4 Jan 24 Reply Hi Vella, I lifted the following from https://www.rob-tomlinson.com/places/church-st-thomas-becket-fairfield

1162 - 1170
Legend has it that Thomas à Becket, the Archbishop of Canterbury, journeying across the Romney Marshes, fell into one of the marsh's many ditches and prayed to St. Thomas for rescue. A passing farmer saved him and the Archbishop had the church built by way of gratitude.

There is much more on the website.

4 Jan 24 Reply Gary, thanks for not cropping. I like the framing I have. Your adjustments do give the image more strength. I guess I am more used to the subdued colours we get in England in March which was when the picture was taken. Jan 8th
4 Jan 24 Comment Bill, I had cataract surgery on both eyes in the fall of last year, and I too was stunned by the sudden improvement in clarity and colour rendition in my vision. Great image with which to celebrate. This is very well done and the perspective has been well corrected. I had always thought of Lutheran churches as being somewhat austere, but this is truly spectacular. Jan 7th
4 Jan 24 Comment Super portrait, Ian. Good pose, well lit and with a subdued, textured background. However, her left hand is neither in nor out. To crop it out means cropping into her neckline, and if you leave it in, I would like to see a little more. Maybe you have more on the frame at the bottom? Jan 5th
4 Jan 24 Comment Brilliant capture, Erik. There isn't much more one can say about this image. It is sharp, well exposed and you really did catch the decisive moment. I do prefer Isaac's crop though. As for what the fish is thinking, I go along with you! Jan 5th
4 Jan 24 Comment Dr Flip is back! Great capture, Vella and a lot of excellent PP work which is simply not detectable - well done. Isaac's brightening of the bird has helped but I prefer your framing. To flip or not to flip? Personal choice I think, although we in the West do read from left to right, so the flip may well be preferred. Jan 5th
4 Jan 24 Comment Isaac, I am surprised that you were able to get close enough to these animals to get a phone shot. I would have wanted a long telephoto and a pair of running shoes! The light is very soft and pleasing, but I think the foreground could be given a bit more contrast. (I tried taking it into ON1 RAW but the jpg quality broke down and it produced massive haloes). 4 Jan 24 Comment This is a great view of this iconic mountain. The colours are very good, especially the pink hues in the mountain and the cloud. I prefer your original framing to Isaac's crop, although I would probably take a little off the water at the bottom. Jan 5th
4 Jan 24 Reply Hi Isaac. Thanks for the comment. The water is just a drainage ditch to catch surface water when it rains.
What happened to Dr Flip? Is it Dr Crop from now on?
