Hi Erik. I didn't think about that composition. One of the great things about this group is the breadth of the image interpretations in the comments. |

Ian, I would never have guessed that this was a composite. The lady looks kike she is just standing there in front of the church door. I do think that the staff is a bit bright and distracts fir the portrait. I tried a little darkening of the staff and the hand to make it less strong. |

Superb shot of these two birds in what looks like a confrontation. Sharp and well caught. Good sky too. The black plumage is so black that I can't see the eyes, but that could just be the compression of the jpeg. Is there any way that you can find the detail in the RAW file? |

I didn't think about the bits sticking out of the top foghorn. Thanks for the suggestion Vella. |

Gary, that is a very good adjustment and improves the composition. Can you share with us what you did?
As for the near foghorns, they are actually quite small compared to the others. You can just see the lower one between the two big ones in the attached shot. Because I was using a very wide angle I was able to get very close to them to distort the perspective. |

Vella, it is quite difficult to capture the size and strength of this memorial without having a person (or even just someone's head) showing. When I was there some years ago I did not have to wait long for someone to appear. Also, I don't think the warm buildings work with the cold sky. I prefer the original grey colours which seem more appropriate to the meaning of the memorial. |

Bill, a very creative and eye-catching image. I think you were right to go for a strong mono image. Like Isaac I think the moon is a bit too big, but I am happy you took out the construction crane. I am not so sure about the addition of the rocks though, as they are not your yours. |

Beautiful light Isaac, and nice composition. I did not have a problem with the branches at the LH edge as my eye goes to the colours and light at the right. Super sky. |

Gary, you have caught the action very well indeed. Also, the small size of the sensor means that even at f/1.6 everything is in focus. Isaac's slight change to the brightness of the ice has brought out excellent detail. |
