4 Jan 18 Reply THanks Bill. I'll take a look at that. Jan 23rd
4 Jan 18 Reply Joe, I lived in Belfast for three years and my experience of Irish weather suggests that you can have everything that Ian describes twice over in one day! Jan 12th
4 Jan 18 Reply Serendipity - and a bit of quick work before they walked too far! Jan 10th
4 Jan 18 Comment You grabbed an amazing opportunity and came away with a very detailed and tranquil shot. The reflections are very clear with only a few small ripples distorting some of the edges of the shapes. We can see from the clock that you were there at 8:30, and you can read that in the reflection too! I like the way that the deep shadow and its reflection form an arrow head pointing to the tug-boat. 4 Jan 18 Comment Great capture Erik. This is vertical take-off nature style! It was good to get the wings at full stretch, and the upward stretch of the neck really emphasises the strenuous need to climb out vertically. The bird is sharp and the wings show just enough blur to highlight the movement. Jan 9th
4 Jan 18 Comment Hi David. Welcome to our group. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Like Isaac, I too had to google Brenizer, so we all learn something new. The image is nicely exposed holding detail in the snow without burning anything out. The straight road leading directly to the distant bend almost sucks the viewer into the picture and makes me wonder what lies beyond. A compelling image. Jan 9th
4 Jan 18 Comment Bill, don't crop it. That plain space helps to create the cold bleak atmosphere. It's a great shot. I hadn't noticed the house on the left at first, so I don't think it spoils the composition. There's nothing really that I can add. I think it is excellent. Jan 9th
4 Jan 18 Comment Isaac, this is superb. The backlit bell tower dominates the image with sharp, finely defined detail and contrasts beautifully with the warm late afternoon light on the fields in the background. The tree detail on the right hand side keeps the attention on the foreground to enjoy the detailed stonework and the silhouetted bells. I've been to Tuscany three times. Now I want to go to Umbria! 4 Jan 18 Comment Nice piece of work Joe. Even as a straight shot, you have captured the transparent appearance of the glass, and it looks as if the glass itself is coloured. As an adventurous image it captures the imagination and I too see a grumpy face. You could play with the Liquefy filter in Photoshop on an image such as this, although I don't think you could improve this one. Jan 9th
4 Jan 18 Comment I did wonder about flipping it..... Jan 9th
