I appreciate your comments, Ruth! Those old houses are restaurants, and shops, built close to the water's edge, some of which date back to the Venetian period. I wish that I could visit it by boats to have a better view of Little Italy. |

Thanks for your comments and your edits, Joan! I agree with you that there is nothing on the other side, except the sea. The angle I shot is almost parallel to those houses. |

Hi Joan,
The cat's mood is well reflected by her eyes and her hair. Her B&W facial hair makes the scary expression with the pointing hair around her face more visible. I am surprised that you got a very good light at the sink. The catchlights in her eyes help make her eyes more engaging.
I'd prefer to blur the round logo at the right corner to make the photo more beautiful. Nice shot! |

Hi Mary Ann,
The scene of Lake Louise in the Canafian Rockies is so captivating! The mountain scenery, the striking colors between the blue sky and the snow, and the body of water with rock flour. You have made a right decision to capture this landscape scene using HDR technique with a mix of bright light and shade.
For the snow at the top half of the image that is quite bright, I'd prefer to lower the setting to two stops below the correct exposure to accurately expose the brightest parts of the scene. Thanks for sharing your technique and your nice shot! |

Hi Ruth,
The colors of the columbines are beautiful! Your post processing is also well done that make the flowers stand out from the background.
In my personal opinion, I'd prefer to eliminate the bulb on the left since it's so sharp and it could compete with the purple flowers. The bulb on the top right is a bit lighter could be used to add more interest to the image. |

Hi Robert,
The San Francisco skyline at night is beautiful! The tallest building with the blue top floor immediately draws my eyes there and captures my attention.
I agree with other comments that a tighter crop would make the image stronger. If you plan to do a night shot again, I'd recommend to capture it at the blue hour so that the buildings stand out more from the background, and with a small aperture (F16) to get more depth of field for the scene. Nice shot! |

Hi. Andres,
What a wonderful trip to Iceland in summer when you can enjoy warmest weather and the midnight sun! I have never been to Iceland, and do hope to visit it in the future.
For this image, you have included multiple subjects in the scene, especially the lake and the puddle. I guess that you want the main focus is the puddle in the foreground, with the yellow flowers that add more interest to the scene. I'd prefer to see some reflection of the clouds in the puddle to captivate the viewers' attention. Thanks for sharing your image! |

Hi Steven,
This second edited version totally changed the reality since the dark area is the open courtyard at nighttime. I'd prefer the first edited version. Thanks for showing me a different option. |

Thank you for those thoughtful remarks, Jack! In this image, I do want to show the symmetry of the beautiful columns. I agree with your comments that I should crop tighter on the left to eliminate the dark courtyard and the lights outside the hallway. |

Hi Ruth,
The cloudy sky at sunset is dramatic and beautiful! The image appears soft to me. I agree with Jack and Steven that adding a bit more land and level it could make the sunset at the horizon more visible and the scene more beautiful! Thanks for sharing your sunset shot! |

Hi Bill,
It's an amazing vertical panoramic photo! The church itself is well lit and has colorful stained glass windows from the altar to the back and on both sides.
Your panning is great with the symmetry on both sides that make the glass windows appear tidy and neat.
One minor suggestion is to crop off the last pews at the bottom of the image since the bright lights on the floor could stop the viewer's eyes there. |

Hi Wayne,
The dew droplets created a beautiful display, especially on the flowers with mixed colors of yellow and purple. I agree with Jack and Steven that the droplets are soft and they make the flower look overexposed and blurry. I'd also prefer to see the petals in full. |

Hi Jack,
The angle you framed the buildings via the window of your hotel is well composed. I especially like the draperies on both sides of the hotel window and the window frame. The garage in the lower level helps to show the height of the surrounding buildings. The single car adds more interest to the rooftop deck. I feel that the car was hitting the brick wall?
The conversion to B&W works well, and the details of the buildings are sharp. I don't have any suggestion for improvement. Nice shot! |

Hi Steven,
We have had a heat wave here and yr photo of watermelon salad is so refreshing! It's a colorful dish and a good photo for a father's day souvenir!
In my personal opinion, I'd prefer to add a plate or container for food photography to enhance the artistic vision for the photograph. There is a piece of food in blue color at the bottom of the image that stands out from other colors. I am curious to know if it's the food color or the light reflection. Thanks for sharing your image! |
