Robert, Even if you went back to the Eastern market, it's hard to get the story-teling moment as you did in this image. What she is selling was captured in your original image, and you could crop differently to show it. |

Thanks for sharing your detailed technique of freezing the roses, Ruth! Both ways are well done and each way gives different feelings to the viewers. I do hope to try this technique one day. |

Hi Joan,
I appreciate your kind comments. I am still in awe when I experienced a feeling of amazement and wonder at this mosque at nighttime. I am quite lucky that my iphone was able to capture a good night photo since tripod is not allowed. |

Hi Michael,
I appreciate your kind comments. That means a lot to me. I am really happy you think about Aladdin, a Disney film, via this image. |

Hi Joan,
Your image has a visual aesthetic appeal! It pleases to the viewer's eyes since it includes the balance of color and movement. You should enjoy the process of creating your image, and should not concern yourself with the judges' scores since their scores could be subject to bias or personal preferences. I really like the pastel and the similar to multiple exposure look of this image! |

Hi Ruth,
Very creative image! Your post processing is also well done to enhance the sharpness and bring out the beautiful colors of the roses.
I am curious to know whether the roses were completely covered by the water or only the stems, since the rose petals appeared not fully submerged in ice. I'd appreciate if you could share your technique of freezing the roses. |

Hi Robert,
The pose and the facial expression of the vendor tells the story of "slow sales" very well. You have captured a decisive moment, and you should be proud of your street photography!
In my personal opinion, I'd prefer to see a little more what she is selling: jewelry and bracelets on the left, and candles on the right? |

Hi Michael,
You have captured a beautiful scene! The sunrise, the different layers of the valley, and the fog has added a sense of mystery and also evokes a feeling of calmness to the viewer. The hot air balloon makes the scene more interesting. I do not have any suggestion for improvement. |

Hi Andres,
The intersecting tracks are interesting! In this image, the conversion to B&W works well.
I'd prefer to keep the end of the rails sharp as in the original image since it leads the viewer's eyes to the turn at the corner and adds more excitement. |

Hi Ruth,
I enjoy your backyard project! With a good observation and a phone, you have found a lot of interesting subjects around you for photography.
For this image, I like the angle you captured the snail. The blade of grass crossing its shell tells more of its traversing route. I really like the transparent color of the snail's body that seems to extend at full length. The raindrops make your image more interesting. Your snail image is beautiful, and I do not have any suggestion for improvement. Well done! |

Hi Susan,
Your image of orange roses is beautiful! The use of cactus as background adds more impact to your image. To me, it also has the philosophy behind this image. The strength (cactus) and softness (roses and bud)can coexist, and they even complement each other. I have learned that embracing both strength and softness can lead to a more balanced and powerful approach to life.
Regarding the odd number of Steven's suggestion, I think that your image is very beautiful the way it is. I'd prefer not to change anything to it since you already have 2 roses of different size and an elevated bud. Nice shot! |

Thanks for your comments, Steven!
I like these half white half pink dogwood flowers in my neighborhood and these flowers are at a lower level for taking pictures. I had one white dogwood tree right in front of my house (that was planted by the community) but it's weird that the flowers are growing on the top of the trees only. |

Hi Jack,
The cloud formation in a diagonal line seems to match with the vines going up to the hills that makes the photo more pleasant and peaceful. The two small trees in the foreground add a dimension to the scene.
I'd prefer to eliminate the green ribbon that tied up those two trees since they are a bit distracting. |

Hi Wayne,
Beautiful scenery of Costa Rica with greenery, rocks, and water! In my personal opinion, I'd prefer to have a bit longer exposure to achieve a more silky water flow. Nice shot!

Hi Steven,
Your long exposure image is beautiful! The angle you captured it is well composed with the diagonal lines of the remaining piers (?) with the mixture of sand, water, horizon, and sunset.
One minor suggestion is to crop off the horizontal element on the left that was knocked down. Thanks for sharing your technique! |
