Hi Mary Ann,
Your image of the interior design of the church in Portugal caught me by surprise. The area between the left and right pews are very wide, and the simple ceilings with minimalist design choices of white-beamed ceilings are totally different than many churches I visited in Europe.
I like the angle you captured this image with the leading lines of the ceilings and the pews that create a sense of depth and guide my eyes through the image and draw my attention to the statue of Jesus Christ at the distance. Thanks for sharing your shot of modern design of the church in Portugal! |

Hi Joan,
Your night photography of hot air balloon is beautiful! Your post processing to eliminate the distracting elements, and to reduce noise & grain in the sky is well done. The silhouettes of the people add more fun to the events.
I found that the balloon on the right side has different design and lighting than the one on its left. I wonder why you decided to crop it in half? I'd prefer to include that balloon in full in the image to create more visual representations to your image. Nice image! |

Hi Ruth,
You have captured a beautiful candid picture of your grandson. He seems to enjoy the waves, and does not care much if his shoes get wet. Your post processing has lighten up his face, and your crop is well done! |

Hi Robert,
What a fantastic find! Your image does look like a praying mantis. The anthers and stamens look like its legs. The nectar on the stigma of the lily makes the image more real! The kitchen background works for me. Nice shot! |

Hi Michael,
You have captured a great shot with the backlighting. The image is sharp, the leaning position of the man to the window and the way he is focusing on his phone tell well a story of a lonely traveler. He seems to concentrate on his phone message, not paying attention to the beauty outside, nor enjoying movies or music video as I normally see on my subway commute. Your image provides a thoughtful exploration of the human condition, and resonates with the viewer. Nice shot! |

Hi Andres,
You impressed me with your creative edits. The original photo is a good choice for this work. I like the way you leave out the bench when you merge the cracked window in the background, and bend the floor nicely. The added artistic filter and film grain are also well done. I don't have any suggestion for improvement. You should be proud of your Photoshop skills now. |

Thanks for your comments, Joan! The black background of the image because we were visiting this area at nighttime (possibly to avoid the crowded market and to see the decorated lights during the Diwali (Hindu festival of lights). |

Thanks for your comments, Mary Ann!
Yes, the image was taken at nighttime. Luckily, it was Diwali (festival of lights) during that time. So, the whole market was illuminated by decorated lights. I had another side view picture of the building taken through the bus's window when we passed by the market again on another day (see attached). As you can see that the building has a fence and a narrow walkway next to the busy traffic. |

Thanks, Steven! I just discovered the purple-pink flowers around the Washington monument this year. I went to the cherry blossoms at Tidal Basin every year but I never see these trees before. |

Thanks for your comments, Jack! I missed the cherry blossoms this year but luckily, I found the purple pink flowers circled the Washington monument. I am glad that you like it! |

Hi Ruth,
The beautiful purple color of the bluebonnets stand out from their dark green leaves. My question is: Why do bluebonnets look purple? |

Hi Susan,
Your olive tree looks abundant with a large quantity of olives this year. I love to eat olives but I never see a real olive tree. I wish you would document a close-up of a branch with olives as well. |

Hi Wayne,
Great idea to capture one close-up and backlit tulip with other flowers in the background. I agree with other comments that more room on the top and at the right side will work better. |

Hi Steven,
This image presents the balance between the strength and the calmness. The tanned man with a tatoo on his arm next to the swimming pool, and he is practicing Gyan Mudra meditation with his thumb and index finger together and seems to turn his focus inward, tells the story well.
I do not have any suggestion for improvement. |

Hi Jack,
You have found the best angle to capture this image! It is very well thought, with the 5 structures aligned from small to bigger ones. The 4th ruin from the left has a bit different design with a rounder top and the entrance stairs, sided by 2 other structures. The presence of light visitors in the scene do not bother me (because it's hard to avoid that nowadays!), and they can be used as a sense of scale to your image. Well done! |
