Thanks for your comments,Joan! It was so crowded at the camel fest, so it's hard to get a clean image. I did get a chance to ride a camel in Morocco, not in this India trip. It was fun! |

Hi Mary Ann,
The deer's face and its antlers are sharp. The lighting on the deer's body and its right ear is a bit harsh, and your post processing has fairly corrected it.
I'd prefer to darken one high grass stem that crossed the hump of the deer. Nice shot! |

Hi Robert,
Nice shot! The title of your image makes me smile. It describes well the disappointment of the bird flying out from the bird feeder because of no food left there. Ruth's bird flipping to make it come towards the feeder also works well, depends on the story the image maker wants to convey. The bird and the feeder are sharp. I especially like the blue & orange of the feeder matches with the color of the bird's feather!
I'd prefer to darken the white snow covering the bird feeder's roof and in the background a bit more since it draws the viewer's eyes there. |

Hi Michael,
You've developed instinctive reactions to capture the right moment of street photography! The leaning forward pose of the woman, her enjoyment of the cigarette (via her facial expression) by enhaling deeply into her lungs, and her looking up into the sky are the great visual elements to convey a narrative to your image. Her red hair, and her bony hands are a big plus to describe her liberal spirit. I am wondering why she had the bottle and a glass of water next to her coffee cup? Did she want to maintain her body's hydration balance after her coffee intake? I don't see water was served in a coffee shop in the U.S.
If you use this photo in open competition, I'd prefer to add a bit of space at the bottom of the screen since the reflection of her hair touches the edge of the frame, and remove the reflection of the bottle at the low right corner since it's quite small. Nice street photo! |

Hi Andres,
The angle of your shot of Mount Etna gives me a conflicting feeling. The visual elements presented in the image do not give me a sense of the mountain nor the volcanoe, probably they lack of the rise and fall of slopes and peaks. I think the same as Michael and Robert that it looks more like a wave captured at a diagonal than the volcanoe.
I agree with other comments that the B&W will be best since the major elements already have the monochrome color. |

Hi Joan,
The result of your experiments with the clarity slider of ACR is beautiful! It's interesting to see that only the colors of the blue trees have been inverted, and not the colorful leaves. I looks like a LED lighted wall art! I really like it!
My question is: Why the trees in the original image have the blue color? |

Hi Michael,
I appreciate and agree with your comments. The crop is too tight on the left because there were too persons carrying their buckets passing by the head of the camel. The three dots on the sky are flying birds, and the blurred corners are unintentional.
For photojournalism, I can only crop the image but cannot remove the blurred three dots. I will put into consideration to use generative fill to expand the left frame and correct other distracting elements if I want to use this image in open section. |

Hi Ruth,
In this image, the single person at the immense sand dunes makes the image more impactful!
In my personal opinion, I'd prefer to have a bit more space on the top since the trees are too close to the frame, and to leave the image in color because of the trees in fall season and the early snow on the dunes are so beautiful! Let see if other people agree to it. |

Thanks for your comments, Wayne! I will put into consideration your suggestion to crop tighter if I use this image in any competition. |

Hi Wayne,
Nice composition! The crop is good because I don't feel that it was truncated, and there is a space in front of the kayak for the kayaker to move into. The water reflection with some water movement makes the scene more dynamic. The blue and the orange colors work well with the dark background.
I'd prefer that the kayaker's face is a bit sharper. Well done! |

Very creative! Compared to to the original, I am not sure what created the sparkling garlands that made me think of a close up of a Christmas tree? |

Thanks, Steven! I am not sure what the snake charmer does. Is he the entertainer for money, or is he the snake seller? I am scared of the snake, and I did not ask. |

Thanks for your comments, Jack! I agree that the foreground should be cropped tighter. It could also help to eliminate the triangle at the low right corner too. (For some reasons, I did not see it at first!).
Yes, I did keep the distance because of the snake! Before this shot, there was another standing snake charmer in the market, and he almost dropped his basket with a cobra in it when I screamed loudly to alert my friend who stood so close to the cobra to get her picture taken with the locals! LOL! |

Hi Jack,
In this image, you got the beautiful light that highlighted the golden temple against the background. The composition is well done with the tree on the left and the white statues on the fences on the right that framed the scene.
I'd prefer to remove a thin branch on top of the screen (as you already realized it), and a white element on the lower left corner to make the image more beautiful. Nice shot!
My question is: Where is this temple located since it looks new & modern, and is totally different than the temples in Ankor Wat that you presented in your previous images? |

Hi Susan,
The palm tree is a nice subject for a silhuouette at sunset. The composition works well with a bit of foreground, the water, and the beautiful sunset in the distance. I don't have any suggestion for improvement. Beautiful shot! |
