Thanks, Joan for your comments!
To answer to your question, I extracted the flower using the Quick Selection tool in Photoshop to select it, then used Refined Edge to refine the selection, and output as New Selection with Mask for any further adjustment. Since the color of the flower is different than the background, it only takes me a few minutes to get it done. |

Hi Joan,
Your image looks like an underwater footage. The different colors and layers are intriguing. The orange bush near the middle of the top layer looks like a big orange fish swimming in the middle of a large group of white fish and yellow fish.
I'd prefer to lighten or change the color of the area between the yellow and green layer to make it more interesting.

Your creativity has rendered the tulips that were past their prime an art piece. The flowers are still bright and beautiful, and the cracking on the ice looks natural.
I'd prefer to have a little space between the tulips and the edges of the frame. Nice work! |

Hi Mary Ann,
I like the way you used the door to frame the archway. The light is beautiful, and the image is very sharp that I can even see the altar in the further distance. The lady coming out of the altar room gives a sense of scale to the scene.
I agree with Ruth's suggestion to remove the man standing at the right corner with his cell phone in his hands because there is no connection between those two people.
Your image is so beautiful, and you should be proud of how well you can control the different lighting throughout the image.

Hi Michael,
You have captured an amazing scene! The composition is beautiful with the clouds, the mountains, the valley, and the river are well presented in the wonderful light. Although you shot the scene at the distance, the suspension foot bridges and the people can be clearly seen. They give the viewers the perception of scale and proportion for the whole scene.
Your post processing is well done and your image captivates the viewers' attention from the start. I wish I had a chance to visit that place.
My question is: Why the clothing colors of the people crossing the foot bridges are less vivid than the ones in the original image?

Your image is so beautiful! I especially love the actions of two sea nettles bumping into each other and one of them also displayed its long, trailing tentacles. The black backgound also make the orange colors of those sea nettles stand out. (I visited several aquariums and always found the ocean blue color background in the sea nettle tank). They look like the parachutes. Your image is well done and I don't have any suggestion for improvement. |

Hi Pat,
I enjoy the foggy scene in this image! The mist and fog have transformed and given you a familiar location a completely different feeling and a bit of mystery.
To me, I'd prefer to embrace the softness of the fog more by decreasing the contrast to fade out the trees in the foreground instead of making them clearer and vivid. The great thing about working with these foggy scenes is that they could offer you incredible creative opportunities.

Hi Jack,
Your image is very interesting! The temples with red roofs are grouped into one area in the foreground and contrast to the modern skyscrapers in the distance. I think that it's a nice effort of Thailand towards its planned urban development which in one part preserves its historic and cultural divisions and in another part embraces modern and functional building measures. I also found that the temple roofs are quite of a modern style because the old Thai temple roofs are usually built in multiple layered instead.
It's a nice shot! My only comment is: I'd prefer to see the whole Thai flag that would tell more about the place of the image. The whole flag of Thailand should have five horizontal stripes in red, white, blue, white and red with the central blue stripe being twice as wide as each of the other four. The crop or the partial of the flag could make the viewers mistaken for other country that also has a combination of blue, white, red colored flag, such as Yugoslavia, or Russia.

Hi Gene,
Your image is beautiful with different layers of colors. The composition works well. I found that the rocks on the right side have darker colors and seem that they have been cut or collapsed. I heard that the climate change has posed a grave threat to the rock structures in Bryce canyon. Your image could be used as a story telling to the viewers.
I'd prefer to darken the rocks in the foreground a bit more because it seems to contrast with the dark and cloudy sky. |

Thanks, Steven, for your edits. I have thought about a tighter crop but as Jack points out, I'd also want to show the nice gradients of the sky at sunrise. |

Hi Quang,
You are so creative ! You have the ability to create something totally new and imaginative. I was also there at the kite festival this year. The Washington monument and the kite are typical in that event, but you have tranformed your image into a fun scene. It brings me back to my childhood when I learned how to pencil draw a landscape scenery.
For this image, the simplicity works well. I am still struggling with the large white space of the blue sky that was eliminated by the Inkwork app.

Hi Ruth,
You are so brave to capture the snake with your phone! I might scream out loud if it comes inside my house, especially in the kitchen sink.
Kudos to you to make the scary creature your living yard art and also to include the part of the kitchen sink to give the viewers an idea of its size and where it is! |

Your image of the walkway at Chicago airport is beautiful! I still remember that I was so excited to see the lightshow when I transit at O'Hare International airport a few years ago. The colorful and changing lights brought the joy to the travelers.
I like the way you captured the walkway at the center with the symmetric neon lights on both sides. I'd prefer to see the travelers on the right walkway go a bit farer and to see some travelers coming to the left walkway. Nice shot! |
