Taking shots of a hummingbird is a real challenge.
For this image, the background is grainy, which does not make the bird stand out, and the green plants around the frame are out of focus. I think that you have tried to get tack sharp pictures of the hummingbird by setting your high shutter speed up to 1/8000s, which makes the light so reduced and that forced you to shoot with a high ISO - neither of them are ideal solutions. I'd prefer to crop tighter and use denoise in post processing to enhance this shot.
Since the bird comes to your yard, you can also try to set up the scene to shoot it with flash next time. |

The background is beautiful and the dragonfly is in perfect position. The dragonfly with its orange colored wings and dark brown bands is also rare species. It gets the name Halloween pennant. I'd prefer to sharpen a bit more, as the version that Luann did.

Your image is so beautiful! The angle you shot, the silky waterfalls, the different colors of the rocks all work well together. I'd prefer to leave the log as it is since it gives a hint of human presence, like somebody has attempted to cross that area. Excellent image! |

The steel construction of the church fascinated me. It's totally different than the other churches I have seen. I appreciated your detailed explanation about the sculpture of two thieves. Your story-telling image made me research more on why Jesus was crucified between two thieves. You have presented to the viewers about what the Catholic church teaches, rather than the normal church decoration. I'd want to visit this church. |

In this image, you have presented a lot of details of this St Cecila church. The vault ceilings reminded me that they are associated with Gothic or Roman architecture, the stained glass windows, the framed pictures, the marble pillars,... They have been a central element in cathedral and church architecture since early years.
Your post processing has also brought out its beautiful lighting. Although I like the leading line of the floor that guided my eyes to the altar, I'd prefer to crop off the first bench at the bottom of the image to focus more on the stained glass windows and the vault ceilings of the church. |

I appreciated your story about the Split Rock lìghthouse and the annual commemorative event.
Your image is beautiful! You have done an amazing job in post processing. I'd prefer to learn more on how you transformed it from the original to the final product. |

Thanks, LuAnn for your comments. For post processing, I used Photoshop: enhanced the color using Levels, and applied paint filter to get a painterly effect. |

The clouds are dramatic and the purple color adds more impact to the scene. You have included the Original 2 Image but it seems that you did not use it in the final image. I'd prefer to merge the tree in the Original 2 to the image to create a more interesting silhouette.

Very creative! The cloudy sky is drama and the red rose certainly hold the viewer's eyes there. You did a nice job extracting the rose from its background! I'd prefer to add an overlay of cloud flying over the rose to make it more realistic. |

The square format crop has eliminated all the distractions in the background. The flowers is also sharp and the vivid orange petals make the anthers of the flower stand out. |

I like the angle you shoot this insect. At first, I thought it was a turtle or other sea creature. The way you close up on the eyes has created a strong impact to the image. |

It's an intriguing image! The final image looks like a giant robot spider. When I first look at the Original 1, I'd want to eliminate the black wall on the right that does not have much details on it, but when you transform it into the Original 2, the white arch on the wall adds interesting open circles to it. The red color also gives the mystery to the scene, especially with the words "staff access only". Well done! |

I like your creativity in this image. You have transformed a regular image into an artwork. The final product also adds the mood to the scene. |
