Thanks, Lisa for your comments.
Yes, the smoke is a big problem for fireworks if it rains before the show because the smoke from the previous firework bursts cannot go away quickly with the damp atmosphere in the air. I had to cut short my long exposure to avoid the smoke (I used to set long exposure around 12 seconds), and also the fireworks are more intense this year than previous years which help hiding the smoke. I just try and experiment the shooting because it totally depends on the fireworks show to control the long exposure setting of my camera. |

Thanks everyone for your comments.
The fireworks usually last only 15-20 minutes, and the camera setting needs to be ready in advance before the sun gets too dark. In addition, I cannot move my camera because there is a big crowd around our group. For the past few years, I used the bridge on the right side to lead the viewers to the Lincoln memorial and the Washington monument in the middle of the image because the fireworks would be displayed above the Washington monument. (Please visit my image in July 2018 to see the difference). For this year, there are some changes about the fireworks show, I was just lucky to get a good image, especially after a rain.
I could crop tighter to eliminate two small bursts on the right but I think it could make the bridge shorter.

You have captured a beautiful landscape! The long exposure setting for this shot made the flowers in the foreground like an impressionist painting. The morning sky is gorgeous, and the trail leads the viewers to the mountains in the distance.
One nitpick is: Since the shadow covers only half of hill on the left which also creates big contrast in colors for the entire scene, I'd prefer to crop off vertically, just past the rock in the foreground. |

This is a best laundromat I have ever seen! The red neon lights enhanced the depth of the architecture as well as the windows. The angle you shot also shows 3D concept. Well done! |

The different colors of your image are beautiful and work well together. The vertical lines of the back of the chairs, the diagonal lines of the deck, and the horizontal lines of the fence complement each other. I'd prefer to capture this image at a lower angle to avoid the top part of mama and papa chairs hitting the bottom of the fence lines, and to eliminate the triangle shadow on the left. |

Thanks everyone for visiting our group 3 and providing your comments to my image.
To Larry: Those colors are natural bursts. My camera is set to Bulb mode on tripod, and I used the shutter release to control my timing. For this image, I covered the front of my lens with a piece of black cardboard at the end of one fireworks burst and took it away at the beginning of the next burst to create my image with both bursts in the same frame. I also intended to incorporate the Lincoln memorial and the Washington monument into my image but the fireworks bursts are so intense this year that covered all those DC landmarks.

The way you used another door with the red cross to frame the scene in the distance made your image different than the norm. I have visited this place twice in the past, and this image still gives me a lot of surprise. I'd prefer to crop the image in square format to eliminate the 2 metal door frames in the foreground to make the viewers focus more on the scene beyond the red cross. |

The color of the flowers are so beautiful. The post processing is well done to create the contrast between highlights and shadows. I'd prefer to have a little more space at the top of the flowers. |

It's a beautiful shot! The bee covered with pollen has created a strong impact to your image. I'd prefer to rotate the image 25 degrees counterclockwise to hide small parts of the coneflowers on the left side. Other than that, it's an excellent image! |
