B&w version works well if you change the title.
To me image with pilots is more interesting and has good balance as well.

I like dynamic composition and dramatic mood of the image.
Piece of the wood and building complements nicely each other.
In digital photo we expect to see details in the black area but it actually works fine here without those details. |

I like b&w original Jim version.And I do not have explanation for it.
I would remove the smaller piece of branch(like Allen proposed)
I like triangle which is created by bird and his legs and branch from other side.
For the color version I prefer darker one proposed by Allen |
