I think it's perfect in subject, lighting, background, exposure, etc. The bird's eye is compelling. It's hard to make a pigeon almost elegant but you've done it. |

I was wondering where that is also? Black and White does seem best for this image. Tough exposure but you've handled it well, I think. Glad I'm inside viewing it. |

I too would crop off the right to remove some dark but also to focus the eye more on the flower. There's a lovely mood to the image. Good capture. |

I think Dennis and Neal are on the right track. That majestic bird in front needs to be isolated in some way. First step would be to make a selection of it on its own layer. After that, there are several ways to blur and darken the background. Those actions need to be done judiciously though to prevent the image from looking too artificial.

You managed to save that very interesting shape of the tree even though the background is confusing. Well done. |

I'm not sure just what I do think of this. It does raise my temperature though. I'm missing how the text relates to the color, or if it does at all. |

Thanks for pointing out the dog. Amazing tree so well titled. Makes me want to root (small pun) for it. |

Great color and the diagonal line of the houses makes the image work. That pier on the lower left is a bother since it's not particularly interesting but since it does add a sense of depth I can live with it. |

You found something here that pulls us in several directions at once and that makes it interesting to view. I played with a crop to just up to the second fence post. By reducing the amount of golf course our attention is more focused on the road. |

For me the conversion to B&W adds a sort of character to the portrait which seemed ordinary in color. What others see as blotchy skin is not a problem since I don't take it literally. What really works in the conversion is her eyes. |

I've been hoping one of us would have that new camera so thanks for the fine demonstration. Great depth of field and detail. That half in/half out person on the left could be cloned out with the bushes directly in front of her. |

What great impact this has. The lines, the colors and tonal range all work to make a great shot. That you could keep some detail in the ceiling and book shelves speaks well to the ability,of the camera. |
