Nice bird capture on the wing. Sharp and detailed feathers make this a great shot. |

I think the image is really the gull in the nest. I don't think the split subject helps. |

Very humorous shot, reminds me of Norman Rockwell painting. His expression is perfect. Clinched fist also helps tell the story.
Might remove the glob reflection to the right side of his neck. |

Excellent capture. I might darken the area back of the left eye so that the head would stand out better. Great eyes. |

Murphy, I totally agree with you. Only after taking all those images did I realize what settings I had used. I might have gotten a lot more detail and perhaps color by selecting a different f-stop. I was too lazy to redo the image and move the light away some. |

Delicate colors and the pedal seams stand out sharply. Rather than a constant black background, I would rather see a background similar to that in Barbara's image. |

You've caught the color nicely in one of my favorite smelling flowers. I like the selected background, gives depth. Might consider lightening up the stem a bit. |

Quite a discussion. This is one time I think that something other than a black background would be better, suggesting depth and a field shot. |

Interesting subject. The open black areas at the top of the image suggest isn't completely filled. It appears a bit dark. Is there any way of increasing the light deeper into the image between the peppercorns? |

Amazing capture, so unusual. At first I did not see the yarn and almost talked myself into thinking it was a composite with
an enlarged grasshopper. I can readily see how it won in competitions. I agree with Charlie's comments. |

The dark green background accentuates the orchid. Good colors. |
