It takes a bit to understand what all is going on and that makes for an interesting image. At first I did not see the people and when I did, the immensity of the scene came alive. I like the wired glass. Colorful and well exposed. |

You caught this just right. This week I went to the Klamath bird refuge. There was very little water and so few birds. This is a drought area. Nice capture and very sharp. Flying birds, as you note, need a exposure of at least 1/2000. Great capture. |

Great capture Sharon. The colors are perfect. Color dodging the dark area on his face would add a lot to the expression. Also I would dodge a little bit the background since that is a nice addition to the story. A slight burn to the yellow robe adds a
lot of depth by increasing the shadows. A slight burn to the foreground added to the darkness of the dirt about the feet. |

White snow and interesting clouds highlighted in a blue sky with the main subject, birds in flight. This would look different as a large panorama, cutting out the top of the image which includes the dark birds against the blue on the left. In the near foreground the patches of unforested green could be brought out better with dogging. |

Unique subject. Nice gradation in tones and side-lighting works well. Would it look better on a plank of rough wood? Opening up a little bit on the dark areas at the base might increase the feeling of depth. Nice image. I was a bit surprised that you used such a high iso.

Hi Lisa,
For a long while I've controlled the WeMacro rail with an
Bluetooth app on my phone. The 30 to 40 exposures are then downloaded into Helicon focus program. The fly is dead after being captured in a container with a paper towel with ethyl acetate (fingernail polish remover). It is mounted on a needle, which is removed from the image in Photoshop. |

Hi Priscilla,
I don't think I can add to the conversation. The image is beautiful. I can image the image in a huge print at the entrance to an upscale business. |

Hi Barb, Warm colored leaf, well placed composition. Diagonal lines add to the image. Sharp. Instead of a pine needle, perhaps try an acorn or two. (That's being picky!) |

Have I not been looking and seeing? This is a spectacular find. I've walked the Cascades for years and have not seen this. What a great capture, well done with sharpness, great color. |

Welcome to the group Gary. Aren't the warm brown colors contrasted with a slight green in this photo are just great! Your ability to capture the insect in a pleasing pose adds to the photo. |

Interesting subject, at first not recognized as shoes. The difficulty of getting rid of glass reflection is a problem. If it were not, a more side shot might have defined the subject a bit more. It is well exposed, colorful and sharp. |
