I was also unable to see the activities for this show but I did manage to see some from a previous show.
You don't show your setting but I am assuming that you were using a telephoto that helped to compress the subjects to make them look even closer than they were to make this impressive image.
One thing that I have found at air shows is that you need to slow down shutter speed to give propellers a bit of a blur. You might be able to get away with 1/250 sec. depending on how fast your subject is moving.
I think that this is an amazing image that you have captured. It is better than what I found in the previous airshows images.

I don't know anything that you could have done to make this much better. You did a good job of placing that log or pipe so this could have happened. Just the icicles without being squared off wouldn't have been this interesting. |

You do have good sharpness throughout. I do agree with Sol about cropping off some of the snow on the bottom. I don't know how much you could have changed your position while still keeping the bridge and it's reflection, but I might like to see if it was possible to move the bridge out of the center toward the left without losing the reflection. In a perfect world, you might have been able to move a little closer without falling in the water and have the bridge balanced with the white hillside on the other side of the image.
I know what kind of weather you had when you were there so I know that it wasn't cold enough for the water to be covered by ice. :) |

Great capture. The bag doesn't bother me either but I wouldn't miss it if it was gone. I don't think that you should try to level the street. Looking at the vertical lines, it does appear to be a little tipped to the left and a level street would accentuate that. What would you think about reducing the saturation a little. To me, it seemed to draw too much attention away from your pedestrian. |

Those mirror-less cameras sure do a good job of focusing on the eyes. The background could really be distracting if it had been in focus. Well handled.
Congratulations on you Showcase image. |

I think it is great the way it is. The white paper fits in with the pieces towards the top and even the string is a supporting element. I might have added a slight faint vignette to help keep the viewer's eye where it belongs. |

Thanks. There was clutter around the base of the poles. |
