I bet it's actually a Cardinal in a Robin costume for Halloween, right?

The first thing that I saw was the cut off boy on the left. It wouldn't be much of a problem cropping him off with a little closing to clean up the area that was left. It tells a great story. |

I do like the circles and the way that Sol cropped in on it. I do like the color version the best. My guess is that it could have been caused by a ripples from a rock thrown on thin slushy ice. I don't know if that would be a good guess since it looks like 2 more further out in the lake. I would have liked to see this from a higher elevation. Drone? |

I liked how you have the glass centered over the Guinness. I don't know what kind of controls that are available on an iPhone. I think it might be hard to reduce your depth of field when you took this. I did some playing around with the background after isolating the glass and the foreground. I would like to see the vignette feathered to make it less obvious. |

You did well to get the robin without branches hiding more than just the tail. To me, it seems like the severe cropping has brought out a lot of noise. You might have tried some noise reduction. |

I do like the soft focus to help keep the eye on your subject. I did notice the flipper or foot going out of the frame right off. It wouldn't take too much to have it all included in the image. |

Very creative. I like what you have done with the smoke. Your work on the lighting is also great. I wonder how it would look if you had reduced the opacity of the smoke to make it a little more ghostly? |

I am working on a program for a camera club on Macro. This was to show the shallow DOF while wide open and it looked like this at f/32. I will be going into focus stacking in the program showing why you might want to open up the lens to get rid of background distractions. Both of these were taken to show true macro. |

That was exactly my plan. :)
I am working on a Macro presentation I need to do for a camera club and this would probably one of the examples of how shallow the DOF could be. |
