I was thinking the same thing about the fellow with the red coat. He draws the attention away for the gorgeous scene behind him. I would like to see him facing the falls while he was leaning on the railing. It might not be all that hard to flip just him and move him into place. Something to do on a rainy day. :) |

I do like the color for something different. I am thinking that it is from the sun shining through the smoke like we have had this past summer. If you could have done it, you might have zoomed in a little more to make the bird a little more noticeable. I would have tried to move the bird and it's reflections more to the side. Increasing the contrast would have made the lines of the waves more noticeable. |

Good pose for you. It didn't even have any branches in front of it. To me it looked a little muddy. You might increasing the contrast to make the hawk stand out more. |

I thought that you did a good job of compositing the pelican on the post. I agree with other comments and would like to see less in the image so the eye stayed with the bird. My thought was that you could get rid of most of the posts as well as the houses and the trees at the top. I do think it looks over sharpened to me and you could have added Neal's vignette.

I like the depth of field throwing that background out of focus. You might have tried opening up the lens even more to make it even more distinct. I am in the same school as Neal, I like to add a slight vignette on my images. |

That's a great subject and story behind it. I could mention things like the flat lighting with the on camera flash and the high contrast that you probably can't do anything about it but that is what we did back 50 years ago, right? |

It does work well if you have the battery for it. It also will mount on the hot shoe to give you a steady light instead of a strobe.

You can Google it to check it out. It is a Godox LEDP120C. It will adjust the intensity as well as some color adjustment. It was fairly cheap when I got it on sale. The battery for it was about 2/3 of the price for the light. It can also run on AC but it is mobile when it runs on the battery. |
