I don't mind the little drops of water. The stream coming from the mouth helps to identify them as water. The back-lighting really brings out the details in the feathers. I don't know if you could bring out detail in the eye since both the eye and feathers around it are black. You would have to remove the water drops on the head to make a catch light show and even if you did that, it would still just look like another water drop. |

I hadn't read any of the comments and was just scrolling down to them when I saw it without the trees in the background. Even as a panorama, I like it. It really brings out the Indian Paintbrush as the subject. The trees were distracting. |

I have seen pictures of these somewhere, but I don't remember when or why. I haven't seen them in person. I tend to go with Sol's touch. It does help them to stand out from the background. |

I like the detail that you have here. You even managed to get a catch light in the eyes of both of the birds. |

I like the view that you have taken. The diagonal position of the various rocks works well. I might have lightened the large rock in the foreground to give the eye a place to rest in the image. |

This is great. I like that you left details in the velvet showing. Your lighting works out well. I might have toned down or removed the arc of reflections in the top apple. |

A whole bunch. I had the motor drive going high speed. Those little critters are moving fast so it was hard to even catch an ant in the viewfinder in time to press the shutter. |

Thanks. It is hard to get much depth of field with this much magnification of a small subject. There was no possibility for Helicon with this. I was glad to get just the ant's eye sharp in the fraction of a second that I had with it in focus. |

You might not even notice these little ants crawling on you since they are so small. My wife did tape up around a window when a little trail of them was crawling up the sink. I'm not sure what they are but they probably are Pharaoh ants.
There is a picture of them here next to a ball point pen tip.

Here is a picture of the tree genitalia with pollen. That is the little yellowish dots. If you tap these a little yellow cloud comes off. It shows how very small the ant was. I couldn't see if there were any ants unless I got down closer to them. |

Thank you. I suspected that those little yellow-green balls were pollen and I took some pictures of pollen on a tree and now I am sure.
