I think that you did a great job with this. You caught the train in the right spot in front of the fountain. I agree with Neal about not seeing the people at first and that really gives a scale to the entire scene. I was wondering how this would be lit at night and I can see lights at the bottom. The link does show it with different colors on the water but they don't look as impressive as your image.
I like seeing the roof area included but my wife would agree with Bev's idea of cropping. I think that the whole fountain is the subject and the vegetation is just a framing for the actual subject.

That is a great flock of geese. With that many the pattern of all the birds becomes your subject. I think it looks great. I don't know if you could have gotten a little lower so just the sky and cool colors could have been your background.
I have heard it said that if a bird is perched on something, you can tell when they are going to take flight by watching to see when they "lighten their load". These geese probably wouldn't have been able to do that until they were in flight because of the eagle.

The bright colors of the robe against the more neutral tones of the background work well for you. Since the subject isn't looking towards you, did you have some area to the left that you could have had him looking into? Maybe more of a square format? |

I like that you added the birds. They do create more interest. I might have deleted a lot of the flock. Showing that many in different positions, tends to keep the eye wandering around the image. It could be that you could try to just include the three that have similar wing pattern. The dark birds that are over the clouds near the middle would give a place to rest the eye. |

I like the composition with the "X" shaped waterfall. It does tend to get lost in the mist but that could be cut down to help draw the viewer's eye. |

I like that you have an odd number of full blooms. You have great colors and your work on the background really gives the impression of out of focus clouds. I'm not sure why you used Helicon instead of stopping your lens down. To me the rotation makes this appear upside down. The lighting is coming from the bottom. Flipping instead of rotating might have been better. My eye is drawn to the light bare branch on the left. A little vignette might have been added to reduce the brightness of that it. You have done a lot of work to remove the background but there seems to be some areas where the black still shows through. I am also wondering what is holding the three blooms on the right. There is also another spot where the branch is missing. I don't want to be too critical since I do like this but it seems like a little more could have been done to improve it. |

Here I thought it was just a bit of the onion skin that fell of.

That little scrap was a whoopsie that I didn't notice until I started to work on it. I liked it enough not to clone it out. :)

It was on curved poster board with natural window light. I just played around hand holding this with Auto ISO. I have really been surprised how well it does with that high ISO. I try to avoid 6400 ISO with my other cameras. |

I agree. It's so much easier to find just what you want from YouTube than even finding a book with what you need. |

What I had seen in a webinar seemed to have to do with the color channels. I just started the book today but I think I am going to need to use a magnifying glass since even the readers don't help. I did a different B&W every day in March. |
