When I played with it, I did try to lighten especially the larger tree but it was time to move on. That was mainly from the vignette. Something you could try is to the vignette on a copy and use a Layer Mask to bring out the original with a layer mask on the trees.

The nest with the mother doing the feeding has a lot of interest. I think that the stick does need to be included to help tell the story. What would you think of flipping the image? It does look like there could be more contrast added. It would darken the background and give more color to your subject.

Nice sharp image. The sun-setting light gives you great color as well as the catch light in the eye.
To me it looks a little under exposed. The histogram doesn't have anything in the right third. You might try Levels or Curves and see what you think. |

I do like the three white elements like Dave said. My opinion on the water drops would be that they aren't really large enough to draw much attention. If you could have done more of a Macro, close enough where you only showed a portion of the petals then the drops would be more noticeable. |

I did try to wait while you decided which critter you wanted to include but I finally had to just go with what you sent. :)
I looked at the image before looking at any comments and I thought about adding a golf cart or even some golfers walking along the path it they still do that. You probably might have gotten something if you waited long enough but you probably would have lost the nice early morning light.
As for that bare area in the upper left, how about cropping closer to the trees from the top and left so there isn't as much empty space up there. Maybe add a bit of a vignette or burn in that area so it doesn't draw the eye so much. |

The bug really adds a lot of interest. I might have tried to include more on the left side to move your subject out of the center of the image. I do agree with the comments about the branches. Maybe it would be easier to just remove all of them. They don't really seem to add anything to the overall image. |

Another good image. I like the brown leaf included. It gives you an odd number objects drawing attention. You might have added a slight vignette to tone down the brighter leaves especially in upper left corner. I like the stroke you have added inside the image. I haven't tried that for a long time. I might have to think about doing it again. |
