That is something that you wouldn't expect to see in a church. It seems to be a combination of two different faiths.
I do like the lower angle you used and it works well to break the rule of never centering your subject.
I recently had to do some white balance correcting on some copies of painting I did for a family. I thought that I might try to see what I might come up with on this and do a little about the contrast while I was at it. |

Just my opinion, I don't see any problem using a photo of artwork in the study group. It could help someone who has that as a project for an artist. I don't think that it should be used in competition unless you are changing something to make it your own artwork. You might take Rodin's "The Thinker" and put him in a midst of students taking an exam. This would be a change from the artist's interpretation. I would still be careful how it would be used. I wouldn't try to make a profit from my manipulated image without checking with a lawyer.
Back to the image. It seemed like the whites were not as bright as they could be. Looking at the histogram, there is quite a bit of the right side without any information. I might also crop off some of the empty dark area on the left side.
Showing on a screen or with this background, you might add a fine stroke of lighter gray to help show the extent of the image. |

I like the bottom one even though you might try some dodging to bring out a very little detail in the face. I like the fact that it also hides the motion in the subject's bright hand and the foot blur doesn't seem to stand out as much. |

I do like the lighting on the pump. The other items really go well with the entire scene without drawing attention away from the main subject. If anything, I might do a little cropping on the left maybe even crop off the soap to get rid of the little wedge of the wall showing on that side. You might even crop off some of the fabric at the bottom too. It is also still interesting just the way it is. |

This is something that I have been thinking about trying since way far back in my film days. I wouldn't have had to use flash bulbs when I first thought about try this but almost.
Helicon did a real good job for you. |

Sorry. I tried to put in my September image while I was thinking about it and it showed up replacing my August one. Some of the comments were about the August image that is no longer shown. Here is a snip of the original image since I don't have it in my files any more. |
