There is an abstract characteristic to this monochrome image. If a Look at it for a long time, I start to see dimensionality, but at first viewing, it looked flat and odd to my eye. The upper left portion of the glass reaction to the puncture is a bit blurred and distracts me from focusing on the layers within the immediate puncture point. the Upper linear elements of the hole that extend diagonally from upper left to mid lower right has too much white (highlight) for me to sense any three dimensional aspects of the effect. Frankly, the only part of the image I like is the bottom right breakout which shows a lot of detail. Interesting study. |

This is a beautiful image. Hands down, it is delightful and wonderful in story, composition, focus, tonality, and framing. |

There appears to be interesting challenges for this image. I think there is some tilt down on the left, however, I wonder if there is turn in the river that is giving my eye a bit of a skewed perspective. The sky looks over cooked with some choppy contrast as well as spotty white elements. The shadows along the shore could be opened up some, too. Is the bridge actually higher on the right side as viewed and sloping down to the other shore? That makes me think, it might be better to photograph it from a different angle or closer to the bridge and then turning the camera to the opposite shore. What monochrome conversion tools did you use. You leave us guessing how you created the B&W effect and how it might have been tonally improved. |

The detail, tone and composition is wonderful. I think there is a perspective tilt in the image which makes everything lean to the right even though the steps are fairly straight. |

Keisha, your monochrome image is wonderful! I like everything about its range of tonality, sepia tone selection, and overall composition and exposure. I like the image balance with the young lady, the drink and the shoes. I particularly like the contrast of the textures and lines in the stone steps and building and the soft tones and curves of the woman. You have an exquisite eye. |

I like the story, Jerry, and I think it lends itself very well to monochrome. I agree the first rendering needs the subject to pop more. By using layering and masking within photoshop or with Selective tools in Lightroom (LR). It is my opinion that the Radial Edit tool in LR was overdone in the second reducing so that the brightness of the Tornado and the areas within it that can be seen through the Tornado went too far. Stuart's approach allowed the amusement park device to work better. In using Lightroom (LR) I think the new selective edit tools where you can simulate layering with the AI Subject, Sky and Background separate tooling, can achieve the tonal adjustments that get the Tornado brighter, the surround background and forground to be separately edited and even the Sky, perhaps. |
