Here is an edit with the vertical perspective adjusted slightly (-3 vertical slider) in Lightroom. To my eye and monitor it straightens the building a little. |

It is clearly a sharp and well composed image with the golf bag and trophies and tells a story like it does for Don and Stuart, although I did not see such a story at first. The tonality is excellent. Are they model race car trophies? Perhaps, I would see a better story if I saw it a wider context in a neighborhood or beside what the trophies were given for. For me it is just a box of trophies that are a little hard to make out and doesn't tell a story to me directly. |

Stuart, frankly at first I didn't care for it and don't like the posterizing effect much. However, it has grown on me and if I ignore the harsh grain caused by the your processing technique, I love the swirl and detail. I probably would like them more with out the frost, but in the end it works in a curious way. Perhaps the effect used enhances the white to much for me, but nonetheless is very interesting. |

I like your image a lot. I think the composition is excellent especially with how the cactus in the lower left corner, then allows your eye to lead all the way through the layers of the image from left to right upward. I think from my taste, the contrast is just right and the tonality works excellently. |

The monochrome conversion and composition is excellent. I think a tiny bit of perspective adjustment can enhance the image for it seems there is very slight inward tilt of buildings. Lightroom and Photoshop can help abate that. Very nice image. |

Very nice image, Don. I like it as you present it for all the right ways of photography, tonality, control of background with just focus on the bird. If there is one thing I would offer is to lighten the leg some. |

While comments are valid and I partially agree, I think putting the bird in its context can be a way of achieving an environmental portrait, in a way, that shows the world of the bird; especially if there are limits to the view due to zoom lens limits of 70mm. Thus, an alternative can be another way to see even if it may be a distraction (while trying to limit those distractions some) for it puts the bird in context. If I had had a longer lens at the time, I might of done just a focus on the bird. By cropping as shown with this attachment, the resolutions gets compromised some and I frankly find it more distracting because just the water is full of reflections that can pull the eye away from the bird. Of course not every image will work as well as we or I might like it to work. Perhaps darkening the shore area a bit more would be better. |

Excellent Image with wonderful tonal range, well defined symmetry and exceedingly appealing visual appeal. While abstract in some ways, lacking in a single focal point which sort of dispenses with a the rule of most photography of creating a single focal point and letting all else support that focus point, architectural photography and certain abstracts are meant to be viewed as a whole and it lets your eye roam the scene as well as take it in as all one subject.
In my opinion, being able to photograph artfully architectural elements is a special skill and in itself become art. Well done. |
