Sorry that I missed commenting on your image earlier. I agree it is a nicely done monochrome conversion and a nice image capture. The subject is very clear and in focus. As Stan noted, use contact aware via Photoshop and thrill in how it will remove undesirable distraction elements like the corner of the music stand. It is a wonderful tool. |

Lance, thank you for the kind comments. Regarding your inquiry, I unfortunately, do not have a good answer for you. I did, however, discover that I errored in my identification in this post of the color version. That image was the result of a second HDR processing of the same original RAW images, but done in Aurora (by Skylum) HDR processor and not Photomatix. In fact the original color of the Photomatix processed image seems less vivid. Given this was captured and processed over 6 years ago and I only have my Lightroom Catalog to review and consider, I don't feel I can offer an answer. The three images are the same three images and F/22 was the aperture with only the shutter speeds being different based on camera setting. Regarding the focal point being deficit, I am not seeing what you are seeing and unfortunately I have no memory of exactly where I focused the original images except to say I tend to approximate a suitable hyperlocal point and virtually never use a DOF tool...call it lazy or to much self confidence in my own "micrometer eyeing" (smile) of a scene. |

Stan, I like the image very much. I believe this is an excellent Environmemtal Portrait of the Big Horn Sheep. The tonality, sharpness, depth of field and composition is excellent. I like it as you have prensented it. There is a fine tonal balance consistent with my tastes. |

Interesting silhouette image. I think The left side foliage is distracting. What camera setting and post processing did you use? |

In my opinion the color "sings" in the color image in a way any single image would not do in this mid day lighting condition. |

Seems that it was, Jerry. I've been thinking about taking the original raw 3 files and run them through Aurora HDR. This image was made 5 years ago and since then I find Aurora HDR far better at combining and finding a lot of selective adjustment. It will let the longest exposure drive the image in a commanding way. |

Don, the shutter speed was .25. .50 and 1.00 second at f22 as 3 image HDR. Thus a nominal .5 second shutter speed when the 3 images were processed in Photomatix. |
