I like your image a lot. I think it would be good to straighten it a little. It seems to be leaning to the right a tad. |

I like your perspective, framing and the textures. Very nice subject. I think the image should have more contrast and that the highlights be controlled a bit more. That can be done in PP quite well and then the image will sing! |

Stan, the story, sharpness, depth of field, and tonal range is wonderful in many ways. It would be a great picture in color for an advertizing brochure image. While technically a fine monochrome it ends up just being an interesting image and well made image. I am sure, based on my own witnessing of these tour jeeps, that the real story is the "Pink Jeep" and seeing it pink. Thus, at the end of the day, I really would most of all like to just see the well made monochrome of the landscape as you did so well without the jeep. I guess I am expressing some ambivolence about the image. |

I like the old time feel of the image in monochrome. The tonality works quite nice and I get a sense of place that is much more attractive then the color version which seems flat and uninteresting. I like your monochrome version including the choice of framing. |

Don, it might be my eyes, but I don't feel the image is particularly sharp and the tonal range doesn't work for me. I also agree that the background is distracting if the subject is the horses. If indeed they are the subject, some cropping as already suggested might be good and blurring the background some might help focus on the horses. I, too, find the faces of the wagon riders being blocked a bit disappointing. |

Stuart, I prefer the original color for overall interest and story. I do not think your choice of crop in the B&W version does much for the story and it doesn't give me a sense of what you are trying to communicate. I prefer the the composition and framing of the original. In seeing your added images in this discussion, I think in seeing more of the animals represented in this art I get a better sense of the wonder of these artistic creations. Nonetheless, this site makes for a lot of interesting study options compressed as you did or expanded as your added images offer. |
