Quite nice pose and composition. The original color balance works far better for me since I find the reflection color tones so out of sync with the actual person. |

Jerry, overall, I see the story you are telling of another time, aging environment and that is applaudable. However, it doesn't work for me in monochrome and the image doesn't seem balanced and sufficiently focused for the title. I almost would rather the walls be slightly out of focus with a hit of the decay so that the Wash Basin becomes truly the subject. I also think cropping on the right could benefit the image so that the chest and wash basin are fully centered. I also prefer the color. The monochrome is a bit flat...my eye is pulled to the bright wall or to the black textureless chest. The color version offer more opportunity for my eye to roam the scene and take in the story...the monochrome version somehow blacks my eye doing that. |

Nicely presented. I like the conversion for its clean and beautiful with very nice composition devoid of distractions and tones. |

Beautiful tones and textures and depth of field. I really like the balance and contrast on shapes and elements within each bell tower and how tree in one plays well with clouds in the other. Shape, form, size all work together so nicely. I like it a lot. |

The tonal Range is quite nice. I like how you approach your works like this. While such images do not often interest me much, I admire the painstaking effort you use to give us an abstraction that works. |

The strong contrast and vignette doesn't work for me. The bird's behavior and actions create a nice story. In my opinion this Wildlife image might work best in color only and if done in Monochrome a softer tonal Range approach needs to be used. |

The in camera picture control in black and white for this camera, which is a full frame very high quality sensor, is strikingly good for capturing nuances of light and its transition from dark to light.
I now live nearly 1000 miles from Milwaukee so it is unlikely that I will recapture this scene. However, capturing light in different conditions is a very good reminder. |

Helen, the composition, framing, lines, texture, tones, and Monochrome dark to light make for a fine study in light and form. Well done....in my opinion you don't need to change a thing. |

I find your image very nice as originally presented. The tonal range, story, reflection and all elements in the image help to balance and provide interesting relationships. |
