I have for nearly 10 years used Lightroom exclusively for final presentation even after work in PS, Skylum, ON1, HDR Programs, Focus Stacking Software, Artistic software, etc. So I just use the export tool to change length and width, megabite size, pixel count and sharpness at export. I frankly get befuddled to try to export in PS, ON1, etc. so I always export back into Lightroom or after the fact as a new file. I really don't have any other suggestions, except to concur that sometimes something that you expect to happen doesn't and that is frustrating. |

Thanks for the thoughts. With those in mind, I offer an alternative crop. |

Jerry, I, too, agree that more depth of field would have make everything sharper in the image. Personally I like the interplay of lines and contrasts within the image of different building and like the tonal variation (black to white). I actually like the image the more I look at. I would would like to see everything sharper. |

Stuart, I too think the image could be better in several ways as already mentioned. What gets my attention first when I saw it was the two ducks being not sharp or not in focus and then I saw the one in the background and it was distracting. I am not sure there is a way to enhance this except with a re-capture of something like this.
I know what you say about odds and even in an image, but what is far more important is a clear and sharp subject(s) that keeps our eye centered and interested. |

Very interesting image, Helen. I like the simplicity of it and the tonal variations. I think both Stuart and Stan have worthy thoughts. I sure like your creativity. |

Stan, I like the image a lot. It has great depth of field, wonderful luminosity as well as tonal range. Compositionally it works except that I wish the left frame that cuts through the tip of one of the ornamental sculpted roof elements was fully visible. |

Jerry, I find the discussion interesting, but unfortunately this abstract doesn't resonate for me strongly. I have no suggestions, but do see that Stan may have zeroed in on some ideas that might help make the image more interesting. |

The image is wonderful as it is with very nice transition of tones, interesting shapes and line interplaying with one another. I think the only possible enhance from my perspective is to open up the shadows a little on the building on the right. |
