Fascinating image with the GoPro. I like the creative nature of it. I think the sky might be a little saturated. I don't do sky replacements (I think once I didn't like the results particularly). Otherwise, nicely done and very interesting experiment. |

Beautiful image with wonderful color harmony. I think the brightest areas could be toned down some and particularly needed if the images printed. Nice job. |

Cool story. I can't see the food in the beak so I think some edit might be appropriate.
The image seems a little over sharpened or something. I see a halo around the birds. Wonderful capture. |

Thanks, Mike. I appreciate the comments. Sharon forgot to add my description which I will send again to her. Here it is:
"This image was created April 22 during the current COVID-19 lockdown here in Virginia. At this time of the morning, I would often be out somewhere, but fortunately was at home to see the bluebirds in action at the birdhouse in our back yard. My wife noticed them first and so I went upstairs to get my Nikon D500 with 200-500mm f5.6 lens. For the next two hours I watched them through the window of our sunroom. What a delight. I captured about 450 high speed rapid fire shots and had some nice keepers (perhaps over 100; not done editing yet). This one was a dandy because you can see the worm in the mouth of the little fellow. It was really neat in some images to see the food being brought to the peeps. There were 3 peeps trying to get to food at times through that little birdhouse hole. On Sunday, June 26th, the peeps left the bird house. I missed that event so I was little sad, but I am so glad they are now grown up enough to learn the world. It must be those high protein worms in our backyard! Settings were Auto ISO 800, Minimum Shutter Speed 1/1600s, f/5.6 and edited in Lightoom for crop, curves, noise, hightlight control, sharpening, etc."
Very disappointing that folks can't see that. It might be due to the the fact I sent a bad size image the first time and resent the image with the initial description again! |

I like the green...that was my choice, but thanks for the comment. The bird was not processed much. See the missing description above under my comment to Mike, that was posted with the image for some reason. |

A hook on the branch didn't seem interesting to me and perhaps even a distraction. I wanted to see just the activity at the bird house. I could have cropped more but the image was a bit noisy. thanks for the comments!! BTW, the description was not posted for some reason, so it is posted above in my comment to Mike. Thanks, again. |

Wonderful crop with a resulting composition that works well. The overall depth of field appears quite nice. I would like to see more contrast and detail in the rocks and perhaps just slight vignette to focus my eye. The water is awesome. |

Lovely. You have created something that you must be very pleased with. I have no suggestions except to say, you have shown a higher key example then I probably would have used because I probably would like a tad more contrast, but it shows me an alternative way. Well done. |

Wonderful image, Sharon. I have no suggestions because it works so well for me. The color harmony, detail, composition, balance, depth of field, focus, etc. is on target. Well done. |

Stuart, I like the textures and tones very much. I think the existing subject matter can be presented in a lot of interesting ways as the version you show in your response to Jerry. I like that too. Nice study. |

Abhijeet, I really like the image and find it very interesting. There is a story for the eye of the beholder and I like the tone and light and how it plays on the subject. It works for me. I however, do not see inner pain as much as I see some wishful melancholy or women's dreaming or thinking of something with some longing. Thus, it makes me to see this as a different mood. |

Thanks, Stan. I appreciate your comments. If you look at my comment response to Jerry Funk, you can see my inclinations on aspect ratio and what I plan to print. While I like the monochrome and feel I successfully created it, I still prefer the color abstract in this case. Thanks for you kind words and thought. |

It has been decades since I saw a Dr. Who episode, thanks for the reference. I don't use Affinity. So I can't speak to that. During our current COVID-19 experience, I find myself overwhelmed with various services want me to buy, look, watch, use, etc. I just stick to what I use and leave it at that. However, I love your comments. Stay well, Stuart. |

I am not keen on the square for this even though I do it often with images. But, it is a legitimate option. I plan to print 13 x 19 and hang in a minimalist frame at home with another one of my abstracts done in a similar way. However, I am doing the color version which I like very much for the muted tones and the other image I will be doing is a very vivid abstract. Thanks for the comments. |

Stan, that is a fine composition with wonderful detail, depth of field and overall tonality. The lighting is very good and well captured. Well done. |

I like the original composition a lot for its abstractness, flow and textures. The black and white image works with the description. I don't necessarily care for it very much, but understand it and it seems to work for that sort of story. I am not sure I can offer any ways to enhance the image. |

It is neat. I wonder if I would have seen it without first seeing the title. I have no suggestions other then I like the idea of a border as suggested by Stuart. I think that would help frame it better then having just the black background. |

I like your creative effort. There is a nice story here. Indeed, candid is not necessary as exemplified here and is as I say creative done with the cooperation of the subject. I find the image interesting and the distortion draws my eye in due to the perspective of the vertical high and low view.
What was your lens focal length and minimum aperture of your lens? I believe the image would be even more effective if you could have opened up wider and blur the trailing background a little so things like the trash bin on the left and the signage at the door on the right are less distracting and just hinted at. |
