Wonderful image. I think you got everything just right. Well done. The bird looks like it is looking right at you and saying "Hmmm, maybe my stomach is bigger then my mouth or is it the other way around." |

I love your image. I agree with the comments about sharpness and feel the pain about a pretty bird not being real sharp, since I recently photographed a cardinal at my bird feeder, but between possible camera shake (forget to turn VR on for the lens), haste, window with a lot of flareback, etc.). However, I think in post adding some sharpening and tonal adjustment such as Mike mentions can get your close to the image you seek. Indeed, it is the stuff of Christmas Cards and can be done with that little bit of post enhancements. Very nice. |

I love the textures and gnarling of this tree. I like the idea and wish you good fortune in the competition. For me there are one of two things I think you might want to consider (1) either darken the low right so that the blue tone is uniform within the image or (2) lighten the image overall to have a balance flue tone that is a bit brighter. That is your choice. For me either would enhance the image. Regardless, it is a wonderful image. |

I thought I knew where this was the moment I saw your image. It is a nice scene with a lot of action, reflections and peaceful pastoral elements of that landscape. I do think as noted by others, it needs a little pop (color adjustment, curves, and some selective tonal edits such as try to bring out detail in the birds or tone down the white). A painterly effect using Topaz or Photoshop will also give you an alternate view to consider. |

Wonderful capture, Carol. The artistic effect, composition, lighting and color are very nice. I am distracted by the blur in the image. I suggest reducing that effect. |

This image is a very worth bird capture in my opinion. I only suggest that you soften the background with the grasses are behind the head of the bird. Mike's suggestion in that regard is a good one, I think. I think it is sharp, well positioned and the color is very pleasing. |

Abhijeet, I think you have addressed many of the suggestions, but somehow it lost some of the brightness that I thought gave the image a some character. It seems darker now. Perhaps light a little with either shadow reduction or slight global dodging. |

I used Lightroom CC. The man and scaffold is fine with me. |

I like the story in this image. I agree with Jerry's crop which helps us focus on the chess display. I would so much like to see the background less in focus so we are focused on the chess display. While I agree the lady on the board seems a bit like one of the chess pieces (the Queen, dare I say), it doesn't quite work with the all the actual chess pieces chained in place, but then I am nit picking the story too much. In terms of tonality, the mono effect is quite nice. |

I think it is a wonderful image. My eye wants to see more reflection, if that was even possible. What I did with an example is add some clarity, open up shadows slightly and make curve adjustments along with some contrast increase to reduce the bit of flatness and make the reflection pop more.
They are just suggestions...I almost always hate to mess with another person's image, but I like it enough to see if it could get some added pop. |

I like the feel of your image and the old film like look. I believe that cropping from the top some to get the horizon line up some would be an enhancement as well as removing the excessive grain on the right side. I also see little specks of black sky. Those might go away if you chose to crop as I am suggesting to consider. |

I think you created a wonderful composition and the range of tone is quite nice. I think you handled both in image capture (I too would love to see the original) and in processing managed the dynamic range quite nicely. I perhaps am one, that while the people, as Jerry mentions, are incidental in the image, stand by my first reaction upon seeing your image that those shadows the people be a bit more open. I think you did well. |

Jerry, it is a fine image, I believe and would not change a thing. The texture, tone, and composition work splendidly. I think your original image offers many opportunities for further forms of abstraction. |

I like the composition and monochrome tone of the image. I think the eyes could be a much sharper and the image overall would benefit from a little bit of increased clarity and sharpening. Very nice image, nonetheless. Here is a case where the eyes looking away works for me. |
