Thank you, everyone for all your comments and thoughts. They aways give me insight as to what captures folks' attention as the look at (my) images. |

Congrats regarding the recent recognitions, Mike. For this image, you again created a nice composition, wonderful color harmony and splendid leading lines that takes me way into the image. I can offer no suggestions unless it is to keep doing such fine work. |

Judith, you created a very nice image with excellent choice of aperture and background separation. I suggest only toning down the background a little so that it is not quite as bright so we can better focus not the fine bird. |

Nice shot, Tom. I have not comment. I spent time with family using cereal box pin camera effects to see results here in Richmond, VA. I did not have filters or glasses so didn't want to risk the capture. Again, well done! |

Carol, you have created a nice capture. I think f22 might be overkill and that while sharp, there seems to be some refraction which suggests a little softening while you got the DOF you sought. I does look like he is about to call. |

Sharon, you have a lovely capture here of this bird. My only comment is to tone down the highlights. I think some detail is lost in those very bright areas. |

Jerry, I like your image. It is well done. My only suggestion is that the tree being almost dead center grabs my eye more then if it was a little more off center.
I recently spent some time at 8 pm atop Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park photographing the Milky Way having not done it in the past. I know getting the manual focus just right backing off of infinity is the real key to success. It appears that you have the right ISO and time for that aperture. Is that the smallest aperture on the lens? I tried using a 20mm with f1.8 aperture with ISO 3200 and 20 sec and was less pleased then when I used a 16-35 with min f4 aperture with the same time and ISO. I will have to see what a monochrome conversion will look like.
Again well done. |

Stuart, you have produced an image with so much story in the facial expressions. Well done. |

Stan, The tonality and composition is wonderful in this image. I think the branch behind the bird is distracting given the blur. Perhaps tone it down with some darkening to subdue it some. |

Very nice image Don. I think you offer us nice perspective. I think, I would open up the shadows a tad and like Stuarts idea about a white boarder that would make this image sing. |

Wonderful image, Abhijeet. While I often avoid so much grain, it seems to work here. My only thought is that I agree with Stuart about removing the light area at the top with a some crop which the image I believe can quite nicely respond to. |
