95 Dec 24 Reply That's a good idea, Stuart, and may reduce that blurred front edge a bit. Normally, blur in front bothers me, but in this one it didn't (not sure why) Dec 23rd
95 Dec 24 Comment I agree with Pat about the focus differential between the two flowers. Also, with there being two equally-sized flowers side-by-side, I feel they don't give me as a viewer a strong feeling of "subject." Not to say this isn't a pleasing photograph, but I think the lighting renders it a bit flat, so without the highlights and shadows, it doesn't generate any feelings for me. Again, it is a nice overall photo from a documentary standpoint, but as a Macro, I'm not sure it does itself justice. Dec 21st
95 Dec 24 Comment Pat, I am very impressed~!! You've done a really great job on this, with lots of detail in your subject, even the small "hairs." The composition is great, simple and effective with the plain green background. It looks very sharp to me, esp. in the eye. This is an excellent Macro, and very well done. Dec 21st
95 Dec 24 Comment Very cool image...and I also love walnuts. You've captured strong textures with your lighting. In addition to your wonderful job with the lighting, you have used the right amount of input images to make this a really nice stack, and everything is beautifully sharp. Nice job!! Dec 21st
95 Dec 24 Comment The way you have composed this lends it a really immediate impact as my eyes were drawn right into the shell. The lighting is also a strength of this image. There isn't anything I would do differently; great image! Dec 21st
95 Dec 24 Comment Very interesting treatment of this flower. Almost a high-key effect, but the gradient changes that. I think I would like to see the background all white, and it would set off your flower better. The original worked better for me with the black background and more complementary color combination. Kudos for trying this method!

95 Dec 24 Reply Thank you, Pat, I do like that ethereal look on flowers esp. Dec 21st
