I will have to go back to the original and see if that very front piece was even in focus--I vacillate back and forth between focus stacking and just doing my best to find the right focal point for overall effect. And Yes, I've heard that about white vignettes so many times...but I continue to like them for some images. Thank you for your input--I value both the positive and the constructive criticism because it makes us better photographers to know what our viewers think! |

Thank you, Gloria, Keith and Pat! I really do think the ethereal is starting to become my style. I just love the feeling I get from looking at them later on. But then how can you go wrong with such a gorgeous subject, right? |

I love the cropped versionĂ¢â‚¬¦it's an excellent image and now shows your subject to advantage! |

That's one scary bee with a very lethal looking stinger. Nice capture on the body, wings and that stinger. For myself, I want to see the "face" or the head from the front wherever possible--and maybe turning it around would have helped? He's dead, right? That makes it possible to position him right facing you or straight sideways for the angle of focus. All the detail is really well done--I just would like to see it on the face more? |

This image has strong colors, good white balance, and some really wonderful detail and texture in the foremost legs. Looks like a very interesting subject!! With f11, I would have assumed there would be more in focus, but I think this one is a good candidate for focus-stacking. From a little bit higher angle, you could eliminate that front leaf entirely, start on the front leg, and capture little in-focus slices through at least to his mid-section. I think I'm looking at his head in profile, with the one eye, but I mainly got that from looking at the placement of his antennas. I need more focus on his head area. |

Well done, Pat! The use of three leaves with a slightly diagonal feel from the way they fan out really works for me in viewing it. The colors look very natural and vibrant. The details in the surface of the leaves and the sharpness of the leaf edges makes for a strong subject. Water droplets are difficult-and I thought they were little flower buds at first glance. The only distracting piece for me is that upper right corner-the vignette isn't working well there. Maybe a dark vignette or none but just cloning in the green? |

Super bee shot-you've got perfect clarity and sharpness. I wondered if you might try cropping to make the bee more prominent as the subject and include the nicely in focus middle of your flower. Maybe some of the outer bits that are soft, but not the really spindly areas? I feel the capture is excellent and not done fair service by all the surrounding bits. Some works, like the wonderful bokeh in the lower right. But some is too sharp and I feel it overwhelms your main subject. Your flower and bee are so wonderful in lighting, white balance and color balance! |

I really feel the fading sharpness works well for this image. You've caught the top nicely, with great light and shadows to give it depth. Lots of interesting texture in your capture, too. F11 was a great choice. 1/6th sec would have been difficult to handhold. The background is more sharp than I like to see, personally, but in LR, you could select the background and take your clarity and/or sharpness sliders down to fox that. I love it!! Enjoy the new camera! |

You've done a great job with the nose-can't believe he held still for this! Kudos to the pooch! I agree that the bright area on the right side should be addressed somehow. A tight crop and some carefully placed burning in? |
