What I did is change the BW setting in Silver Efex, then crop, do selective white, exposure and shadows adjustments, and tried to brush out the lightness in the window. Thoughts? |

This is a wonderful image: it has movement and life, and interest. Technically, you've done it all right, although I did like the cropped version a bit better. I think this is perfect as a street image and both a fun image and a commentary on 2020 at the same time! I see the title is Runner; I would love to see you come up with a title that sets up its relevance to Covid more tightly. It feels ironic with all the graffiti behind her and the seriousness of wearing a mask while jogging. |

I like the image. The perspective does bother me a bit, as she became maybe too small in the overall landscape? But it is a great capture of a cultural moment. |

Great image! His expression is front and center, with just the perfect amount of depth of field to tell us where he is and to bring in the girl, while still keeping the focus on the boy and his excitement. I don't see an artifact, but I do see face painting, all part of a day at a faire! And the woman didn't even register for me until I read the comments--as we all know, this is part of street scenes as we capture that single moment in time. |

I actually do have a version where I did just that! And I did like it, but I have a hard time looking at heavy vignetting. |

It is an interesting image. Clear and nicely balanced, and I like the black-and-white treatment. I keep waiting, though, for the women to interact. It makes me uncomfortable that the middle woman is looking away from the cell phone, which is obviously being used by the first woman to video the rally. However, if you hadn't told me you were at a rally, it could have been anywhere. I thought a library at first! Perhaps a different perspective would have created the framework for this? The only other thing I'll say about positioning: the frame of the last woman's glasses is being spit out of the middle woman's mouth. I may be hyperaware of this due to my own sad picture that showed my family at Christmas and I was positioned in front of a small tree so that the improvised bow on top came out looking like I was wearing a "Christmas Bonnet" as my friend observed!

Definitely a street image...and a commentary on our times!! What I like most is the rapt attention of the guys, while the woman is clearly uninterested and merely being a good sport! You didn't say what adjustments you did in Capture One? |

Definitely sets a mood immediately...dreary and wet!! Did you look at bringing up the shadows in post at all? What works well for me is the wet street leading into the image, and the individual with the red umbrella nearer to the viewer...it offers up a story. I think the image is leaning to the right, so that is a bit distracting at first glance. |

Thank you. Do you not find the center too soft? |

Well, I do see the clarity on the petals, but honestly, the center still troubles me for its lack of sharpness. Back to the drawing board. |

This is a perspective we don't usually see on a pine cone. You've caught the texture and details beautifully. I like your balance of highlights and shadows, and would love to see more detail in those shadow areas without losing the feeling of light v. dark. Was that a dead spider in there? I think the only suggestion I would make is that the subject should be maybe more apparent? I couldn't discern what was the main subject? |

Gosh, Tom, here I thought we were looking at another part of your anatomy...hair follicles from your head? But this is wonderful...I love the combination of colors, the crispness while still being abstract, and the subtle lighting. Great artistic piece! |

Very cool macro...different from what we normally see! Great detail and very crisp capture. Very balanced so that any blown out areas are very minor. A diffuser could have helped to eliminate them completely. I love that you've pulled out so much texture. |

I enlarged this to see all the detail; nicely sharp down to the littlest details of the flower (the hairy legs!). I'm not sure the bee is clear enough because of the shadows and blacks. Can you brush some lightness just onto the bee? Bring it up a bit? I love your image of the flower, just the right amount of softness and a beautiful depth of field. The bee is the only part that doesn't work for me :-( |
