Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
67 Apr 26 Reply I appreciate all the kind and constructive comments from everyone. Larry, you are so observant! Yes, to me this image is more about the colt (which is also in lead position) so I did emphasize the colt in post-processing, lol. Apr 7th
67 Apr 26 Comment Hi Bud,
(Thank you for including the new recommended LRC Workflow. I, too, will have to look into this.)

Your image is beautiful, emanating grace and elegance. I love the soft reflections in the water of the two swans with the out spread wings. I think the reflections help emphasize the two subject swans and main point of interest. The only thing I might do is separate these two a little more from the background, or deemphasize the other swans by slightly bringing down exposure and highlights.

67 Apr 26 Comment Butch,
This is a very strong and beautiful panning image...love it! Immediately, the image communicates motion and the monochrome treatment emphasizes simplicity, making it all about the zebra. The zebra's head is sharp and anchors the image while the blur in the lower part of the image implies the energy and speed. The only thing I might do is add a radial gradient to slightly increase exposure on the head and face to bring more attention there. Beautiful!

67 Apr 26 Comment Larry,
Well that's scary, very scary! The alligator is doing such a great job of camouflage, I would be eaten for sure! I don't know how I would edit this one...bring down the highlights in the light leaves but I still don't think this will make the alligator any more obvious (and isn't that the point?). The alligator wins... Or, you could try a little more separation in the head and eyes.

67 Apr 26 Comment Hi Cindy,
The magic of this image is in its storytelling: one penguin launching off the ice, another is already in the water while the others are in line adding a sense of anticipation and narrative value. The composition is also very good, with the diagonal line of the iceberg leading the eye to the action. To make the image even stronger you might consider a tighter crop to emphasize the action of the jumping penguins.

67 Apr 26 Comment Hi Gregg,
I like this action shot a lot, particularly for the drama it and energy it reveals! I agree that there could be more separation between the baboons and the background and like the treatment Butch gave it. Maybe you could separate the baboons from each other as well since the overlap in their bodies and faces at first glance is hard to read. If this were my image, I would add a radial gradient with exposure over the faces to give them a little more attention. Great shot!

67 Apr 26 Comment Hi David,
This is a strong minimalist, graceful and beautiful image, with a high key treatment. The mood is subdued and calm. The bird is placed nicely in the frame, with enough space in front of the beak to give the bird a place to look into. Bird seems a bit over-sharpened to me. I, too, love the simplicity.
