Hi Pinika, Sunrise is such a special part of the day! If I could just get up before the first light I would photograph more! Your image communicates that wonderful feeling of being outside awashed in the pleasure of the light. My favorite part is the rim light around the people. The leading lines take me directly to the sunrise and the folks enjoying their walk.
I fine the orange things (what are they called) distracting but I can see how they could be a part of the leading lines or maybe a subject or supporting element?
I like that the image has many possibilities and I wonder if you played with different ways of cropping it? |

Hi Marcus, How wonderful to create this image without the distractions of grass or footprints. It is impactful in black and white as it really highlights the geometry of the web and surrounding elements. Your technique of using the PS Oil Paint filter brings individual creativity to your image leading to a photographic art consideration. Since it goes in that genre direction I think it would be fun to go even further maybe by removing the "welcome" stake in post. |

Hi Sue,
This is a fun image with energy and color galore! I can almost feel myself being there. I wonder about your choice of focus and subject. It looks like it is in the lower right part of the image as that is where my eye goes even though the energy I feel is more on the lights and and background. Many photographers would love to have that kind of bokeh in a background. I think it could be even better if there was a person and object closer the center or dissecting on a rule of thirds as the main area of the image is bare. Or you moving toward one side or the other to frame your favorite point of interest. Perhaps crop out the right side eliminating the lower right posts, yellow board and red reflectors. Overall you have a good image with a story like feel. |

Hi Alastair,
I like looking at your image without seeing the description first. I kept thinking what is this? I was engaged with exploring the image to try out different ideas on what it is. I think there could be a story here between harsh and soft light (now that I know these are lights)! I like abstract work and I see this as abstract. I am new here so I do not know if this is a series or not but it could be. No rules image for the win. |

Both the image and the subject are works of art. The color makes a strong impact, muted yet powerful. The artist tells a wonderful story.
I like the centering of the image yet would love to see it even more symmetrical and balanced with a tad more breathing room around the subject. The worms eye view works here, maybe some transforming or cropping in post processing can balance it.
I am now curious to learn more about the birth of Buddha and thank you for sharing this information. |

Hello Ken, I am brand new to APS and even newer as a member of this study group! I was drawn to your image right off as I love abstract and this one offers many interpretations, at least before reading the description provided. Is it not fun to capture engaging exhibits? My first perception was it represented neurons! Next I perceived it was a forest! I love the play your image has on my perceptions. Of course the impact of the "real" subject is just as fascinating. The monochrome contrasts are done well and gives it a sketch like feel. I can sense the 'movement'. An enjoyable image. |
